Dear FRiends, We need your continuing support to keep FR funded. Your donations are our sole source of funding. No sugar daddies, no advertisers, no paid memberships, no commercial sales, no gimmicks, no tax subsidies. This means no spam, no pop-ups, no ad trackers.

And because we are not a 501C, we have preserved our God-given, constitutionally protected right to free speech without government intervention.

All of the above means Free Republic remains an independent, grassroots, user-funded, conservative forum.

If you enjoy using FR and agree it's a worthwhile God-Family-Country endeavor, please consider making a contribution today:

Click here: to donate by Credit Card

Or here: to donate by PayPal

Or by mail to: Free Republic, LLC - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794

Thank you very much and God bless you.

May I suggest subscriptions for regulars and those who want to read the comments (which are the best part of this site) and add comments themselves?

I appreciate the absence of annoying ads but the constant asking for donations is kind of the same. Seems once the goal has been reached the asking for the next round starts the next day.

Make all participants pay something. Just a thought.

My understanding of the law is that subscription websites have a much higher level of liability for what is published on their website.

That would include defamatory or deceitful comments, plus, much stricter enforcement of copy right laws.

My understanding is that Free Republic avoids significant liabilities by being a donation only website.

Tragically, many of our most prolific posters and our most creative and insightful commentators have moved on or passed away.

Regardless, I still think Free Republic has the best web site format for political content and comments on the entire Web.
