Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, says Republicans want the border "closed" as part of a potential congressional agreement for additional emergency spending requested by the White House and criticized "clueless" Democrats who want to negotiate border provisions.
"Dems want $106B—GOP wants a closed border. That’s the trade. But clueless Dems want to negotiate the border bill. Not going to happen," Romney said on X, formerly Twitter. "Is an open border more important to Dems than Ukraine and Israel?"

Mittens suddenly got religion?
Let me answer his question.
Democrats will gladly destroy Israel and Ukraine to keep the border open.
Hey, I how we get border concessions. Just not going to happen with this communist administration.
And the Rino from Utah isn’t even running for reelection...so an open borders guy now is okay with using political leverage to close the borders...
I’ll take it, but I still don’t trust him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to lard up the legislation with hundreds of thousands of more H1B visas...
STFU, Mutt! No one wants your opinion on anything.
Romney is right about this. If his support helps us get a closed border, I’ll take it.
Random act of Republicanism
BREAKING NEWS: Blind Pig Finds An Acorn
Rogue elephant mistakenly tramples a leftist.
He misspelled “treasonous.” While Romney (surprisingly) comes close to the right argument here, why is it that not a single Republican can effectively point out that Democrats are actually trying to horse trade over border security? They’re actually refusing to defend the nation, as they swore and are obligated to do, unless they get a bunch of items on the leftist wish list in return. And even if they get what they want, they’re only willing to make a weak and ineffective attempt at securing the border. That’s treason on multiple levels, and it needs to be called out as exactly that.
They probably won’t honor any of the concessions they make, but Romney is correct, they are clueless about how much their policy is disliked.
Admit it, Marcus, Mitt wit was your favorite GOP Presidential nominee since your favorite President George W. Bush left office.
