New polling shows Pennsylvania Republican gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano pulling close to Democratic rival Josh Shapiro as the contentious governor’s race nears its home stretch. Polling from the Trafalgar Group shows Mastriano within two points of Shapiro, at 45.7% to 47.7%, respectively. That indicates the race may be significantly closer than data from earlier weeks demonstrated.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — In the same spot where he spoke to thousands of people at a raucous State Capitol rally demanding an end to pandemic restrictions in April 2020, Doug Mastriano appeared on Saturday before a crowd of just a few dozen — about half of whom were volunteers for his ragtag campaign for governor of Pennsylvania. Mr. Mastriano, an insurgent state senator who in the spring cruised to the Republican nomination, is learning this fall that while it is one thing to win a crowded G.O.P. primary on the back of online fame and Donald J. Trump’s endorsement, it...

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro continues to hold a double-digit lead in the race for Governor, according to a new Muhlenberg College/Morning Call poll. The poll found Shapiro with 53% support, consistent with a CBS/YouGov poll released earlier this month. A Trafalgar Poll also released in September showed just a two point lead for Shapiro. With Mastriano receiving 42%, only four percent of voters in the Muhlenberg poll said they were undecided or would support a third party candidate. Shapiro also held an 18 point lead over Mastriano in favorable rating with a near mirror image of support: 31 percent...

I can't stress this enough: at its core, Democratic politics is about criminalizing opposition to their party and ideology. Dissenting ideas are "disinformation" and must be censored by Big Tech. Trump voters are inherently criminal "("insurrectionists") and should be imprisoned.

New York State Senator Anna Kaplan, a Jewish Democrat, said Sunday in a statement that both rallies invoked Nazi imagery. "Last night at a rally held by the former President, and today at a political...

President Joe Biden got confused while delivering a speech promoting Democrat candidates in Pennsylvania on Tuesday. “Please please elect the Attorney General to the Senate, and elect that big ol’ boy to be governor,” Biden asked voters in the audience. Biden was clearly mistaken about what office each candidate was running for. The attorney general is Josh Shapiro, running to be governor and the “big ol’ boy” is Lt Gov. John Fetterman, who is running for the Senate. [cut] Referring to Fetterman, Biden noted he could not join them at the event, but he endorsed him as a “powerful voice”...

Seven more Republican leaders have announced their endorsement for Pennsylvania's Democratic candidate for governor Josh Shapiro, following photos of GOP state Sen. Doug Mastriano wearing a Confederate military uniform. This comes one month after nine Republicans vowed to support the Democratic candidate and called Mastriano an "extremist" who threatens American democracy. According to a statement released by the Shapiro campaign on Tuesday, the group includes Michael Chertoff, the former US Secretary of Homeland Security under President George W. Bush, and Mario Civera, a former state representative. Shapiro, the state's attorney general said he was proud to receive the endorsement from...

We now have two separate polls showing Pennsylvania’s closely-watched U.S. Senate and gubernatorial races are too close to call. After a series of polls showed Democrat U.S. Senate candidate and former Mayor John Fetterman with what looked like an insurmountable lead over GOP candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, that lead is not looking so insurmountable now. An Emerson poll shows it’s just a four-point Senate race, with Fetterman up 48 to 44 percent. Trafalgar, which has proven over three election cycles to be a remarkably accurate pollster, also shows a four-point race, with Fetterman up 48 to 44 percent. Oz’s hurdle...

A new poll has brought some good news for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz and governor candidate Doug Mastriano. The poll by the Atlanta-based Trafalgar Group surveyed nearly 1,100 likely Pennsylvania voters and found that Oz only trails Democratic opponent John Fetterman, the state’s lieutenant governor, 48.4 percent to 43.5 percent. Trafalgar’s poll had a margin of error of plus/minus 2.9 percentage points. While still having to make up ground, the poll results will likely give the Oz campaign a much-needed morale boost after previous polls had him trailing considerably further behind. Most recently, a Fox News poll...

Campaign season is about to kick into high gear, as it normally does after Labor Day. By now, candidate debates are usually scheduled. But there are still questions about how debates will play out in Pennsylvania’s top two races—for governor and U.S. Senate. Race for Governor Republican gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Doug Mastriano will not participate in debates hosted by legacy media, a spokesman from the campaign confirmed. He has another plan that he believes will be more fair. Mastriano’s campaign sent a letter on Aug. 16 to Democrat candidate Attorney General Josh Shapiro, proposing the two campaigns work together...

The Left and even some in the Republican establishment are pushing a narrative that Mastriano is an EXTREME candidate. Ironically, they are also calling Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican candidate for US Senate, “extreme.” Doug Mastriano is a 30-year member of the military with top security clearances, a family man, and a state senator who sits down and talks with not only his constituents, but the general populace across the state? The main complaint of this candidate seems to be focused around the Roe v. Wade decision. Senator Mastriano has made a public statement that the US Supreme Court has...

Jackie Kulback was just one of the Pennsylvania GOP leaders who was worried in May when Doug Mastriano clinched the Republican primary for governor. Mastriano was a MAGA state senator who worked to overturn the 2020 presidential election and Kulback thought he would struggle to win the critical battleground state in the fall. But she’s feeling differently these days. “The higher the gas prices go, the more electable Mastriano is,” said the chair of the Cambria County Republican Party. “Honestly, I feel this is Mastriano’s campaign to lose.” In the immediate aftermath of Pennsylvania’s messy gubernatorial primary — which included...

Former Lehigh County congressman Charles Dent and former Bucks County congressman Jim Greenwood, both Republicans, have endorsed Democratic state Attorney General Josh Shapiro in his campaign for governor over Republican nominee Doug Mastriano. “I’ve been a Republican my entire life, and I have always supported Pennsylvania’s Republican Governors – but in this election, I am proud to endorse Josh Shapiro,” Dent said in a statement released by Shapiro’s campaign. Josh has integrity and always works to bring people together. We may not always agree on every policy position, but that is to be expected. His focus on improving our economy,...

A former senior counsel to President Donald Trump says the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race is the “most important in the country” because it could set the tone for how election integrity measures are applied across the United States. Trump-backed Doug Mastriano, a Republican state senator and vocal proponent of election integrity, is facing off against state Attorney General Josh Shapiro in a closely-watched governor’s race in November. If elected, Mastriano would oversee improvements in the state’s electoral system that will trigger a ripple effect across the rest of the country, according to the GOP nominee’s newly-appointed senior counsel Jenna Ellis. “I...

While Democrat John Fetterman holds a strong lead over Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate race, the Pennsylvania Governor race is much closer in the early days of the race. Attorney General Josh Shapiro, the Democratic nominee, holds only a 4-point lead over his far-right Republican rival, state Sen. Doug Mastriano, with just under 13 percent of voters remaining undecided in the race in the newest USA Today Network/Suffolk University poll. That puts Shapiro’s advantage over Mastriano within the poll’s 4.4% margin of error.

Doug Mastriano, the ultra-conservative state senator from central Pennsylvania, won the Republican primary for Pennsylvania governor, NBC News projects, setting up a race against Democrat Josh Shapiro in the November general election. With the victory, Mastriano completed a meteoric rise through the state Republican Party ranks, despite efforts from many of the party’s establishment trying to keep him from winning the nomination.

Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Doug Mastriano in Pennsylvania’s Republican primary for governor, putting a last-minute seal of approval on the far-right front-runner who has embraced his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him. "There is no one in Pennsylvania who has done more, or fought harder, for Election Integrity than State Senator Doug Mastriano," Trump said in a statement Saturday. Trump’s backing comes just days before a Tuesday primary where Mastriano has solidified himself as the leading candidate. Democrat Josh Shapiro, the state’s attorney general who is unopposed in his party’s primary for governor, has...

Pennsylvania Democrat attorney general Josh Shapiro, who is now running for Governor of Pennsylvania, stands accused of covering up election fraud complaints against Democrats dating back years during his current tenure as attorney general, leading a whistleblower to accuse Shapiro of being “criminally negligent.” “AG Shapiro turned a blind eye to the alleged criminal wrongdoing of members of the Democrat Party in our county (Fayette County, Pennsylvania). These same Democrats now owe gubernatorial candidate Shapiro their support in his run for the governorship. They hosted him recently,” whistleblower Robert Frasconi told NATIONAL FILE, noting that he made a formal 2018...
