MSNBC's Olbermann Twice Gets Free Republic Founder's Name Wrong By Matthew Balan Created 2009-07-15 12:11 Keith Olbermann, one of MSNBC’s resident leftists posing as anchors, named Jim Robinson, the founder of FreeRepublic.com, as his runner-up on his “Worst Person in the World” feature on his Countdown program on Monday evening but twice called him “Jim Thompson.” After first implying that “Thompson” and his site’s moderators were a bunch of juveniles, Olbermann explained that the reason why the Free Republic founder was so bad was because a few posters on one of the regular picture caption threads made “racist” comments, that...

Jim Thompson, the creator and owner of Free Republic should be a bit upset with Crissie. At least Kieth Olbermann knows the real name of the owner of this site! From the re-write: The writer has a point," wrote site owner Jim Robinson sarcastically. "We should steer clear of Obama's children. They can't help it if their old man is an American-hating Marxist pig." "I agree Jim," wrote commenter, by the nickname NoobRep. "The kids didn't pick their commie pinko pansy of a father. Nor did they choose to be put into the spotlight... ***** One poster by the name of...

Jim Thompson, born March 21st, 1906 in Greenville, Delaware, was an American architect who helped revitalize Thailand's silk and textile industry in the 1950s and 1960s. Thompson, previously a member of the CIA, disappeared mysteriously after going for an afternoon walk on Easter Sunday in Cameron Highlands on March 26th, 1967. Jim Thompson was on a quiet sojourn to the highlands to visit some friends and the fact that he left his cigarettes and a small silver 'jungle box' on the chair outside Moonlight Cottage where he was staying suggests that he had not planned to be gone for...

The runner-up, Jim Thompson, the owner of the right wing website Free Republic, which has moderated comments, meaning a grown up is supposed to read them and delete the crazier ones. But Thompson‘s folks waited as long as three days removing a comment thread devoted to the racist rage of a disturbing large number of his posters, possibly some of the same people who had previously conducted polls on the site on how best to topple the freely elected government of the United States. After President Obama‘s daughter appeared in a t-shirt with a peace sign on it at the...

On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog, but someone in the liberal media just informed me that the president of the U.S. is a black man. And as such cannot be criticized or joked about by conservatives. Obama is off limits! They can make all kinds of rude and crude jokes about George Bush, even comparing him in thousands of crude cartoons over the past eight years as a chimp, but man. If you were to follow suit comparing today's president to a smirking chimp you would be crucified! And Sarah Palin's family and children? Open season! Even...

"A bunch of ghetto thugs." "Ghetto street trash." "Wonder when she will get her first abortion." These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative 'Free Republic' blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama's 11-year-old daughter Malia after she...

(AP) DES PLAINES, Ill. -- Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani picked up a key endorsement Thursday in Illinois, getting the backing of former GOP Gov. Jim Thompson, a former federal prosecutor who ruled the state for 14 years. Giuliani will appeal to Illinois voters because of his "commonsense solutions for problems and issues facing Americans in this dangerous decade," Thompson said. Illinois has a track record of electing moderate Republicans like Thompson to statewide offices, and Giuliani is known for his moderate-to-liberal views on some issues. But both Thompson and Giuliani were quick to avoid labels in the presidential...

SCATTERED AMONG the loose papers and bound files unearthed last week at the Iraqi Foreign Ministry in Baghdad was "letter no. 140/4/5," labeled "Confidential and Personal" and addressed to "The President's Office--Secretariat." The letter concerns George Galloway, a pro-Saddam member of the British Parliament, who founded a charity known as the Mariam Appeal, ostensibly to aid Iraqi children suffering under U.N. sanctions. The missive, from the Iraqi Intelligence Service, is a request that money be funneled directly to Galloway. It reads in part: His projects and future plans for the benefit of [Iraq] need financial support to become a motive...

CHICAGO (AP) A federal judge in Chicago says she'll grant a request to delay George Ryan's racketeering trial after the former governor appeared in court to make a personal plea. Ryan said several times today that he was "begging" U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer to delay his March 14th trial. And his appeal worked. The trial date is now set for Sept. 26. Pallmeyer says she'll allow the delay so Ryan won't be forced to replace his top defense attorney, who has a scheduling conflict. The trial will now begin in September. Ryan told the judge that he came to...

WASHINGTON — Condoleezza Rice isn't the only one with a lot riding on her appearance Thursday before the Sept. 11 commission.

If panel members appear politically motivated in their questioning of the national security adviser, it could raise questions about their credibility — and the findings in their final report this summer.
