Today we're going to try and use modern technology to breathe some life into the historical portraits of the very first Presidents of the United States by adding facial animations. The history teaches us that United States declared independence from Great Britain, on 4th July 1776, during the American Revolutionary War that lasted about 8 years. The Declaration of Independence has been largely written by Thomas Jefferson who was a member of five-man committee, appointed by the Continental Congress, that included John Adams, Roger Sherman, Benjamin Franklin and Robert Livingston. William & Mary Police are investigating after a statue of James Monroe was graffitied with the words “slave owner” late last month. A crime log the school sent out Monday says a “non-student” was detained for writing on a statue at 1:36 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 outside Tucker Hall. University spokeswoman Erin Zagursky said William & Mary Police have identified and spoken to a suspect, but no charges had been sought as of Monday afternoon.

The White House Blue Room is getting a new old look. Melania Trump has announced the restoration of a collection of furniture made for the White House by Frenchman Pierre-Antoine Bellange. The first lady says a team of curators has spent more than a decade restoring the furniture. The Committee for the Preservation of the White House approved the restoration project. WILLIAMSBURG -- College of William and Mary officials removed a 2-foot-high gold cross from the altar of the Sir Christopher Wren Building chapel this week, in an effort to modify the historic chapel into a nondenominational space. The cross is now kept in a nearby storage closet, near communion wine bottles and other religious articles.

ROCK HILL, S.C. - A research facility is planned for York County that will focus on the role of Southern states in the Revolutionary War. Historian Michael Scoggins said the Southern Revolutionary War Institute will be used to educate people about the South's contributions to the war. It's a field he says has been neglected in the past. "There's been various fields that downplay the role of the South," Scoggins said. Archaeological dig aims at re-creating farm where James Monroe was born ___ A RE-CREATION of James Monroe's birthplace in Westmoreland County will begin with shovel holes in the ground next month. That's when archaeologists from the College of William & Mary say they will begin digging test holes in search of artifacts at the 70-acre site near Colonial Beach.
