Climate Change: A suppressed EPA study says old U.N. data ignore the decline in global temperatures and other inconvenient truths. Was the report kept under wraps to influence the vote on the cap-and-trade bill? This was supposed to be the most transparent administration ever. Yet as the House of Representatives prepared to vote on the Waxman-Markey bill, the largest tax increase in U.S. history on 100% of Americans, an attempt was made to suppress a study shredding supporters' arguments.

A Charlotte, N.C., man was charged with first-degree murder of a 79-year-old woman whom police said he scared to death. In an attempt to elude cops after a botched bank robbery, the Associated Press reports that 20-year-old Larry Whitfield broke into and hid out in the home of Mary Parnell. Police say he didn't touch Parnell but that she died after suffering a heart attack that was triggered by terror. Can the fugitive be held responsible for the woman's death? Prosecutors said that he can under the state's so-called felony murder rule, which allows someone to be charged with murder...

By Marc Morano - Climate Depot - May 4, 2009 Washington, DC - NASA scientist James Hansen, perhaps the most vocal voice in the U.S. warning of a man-made global warming crisis, has declared he hopes Congressional efforts to pass a cap-and-trade climate bill fail. "I hope cap and trade doesn't pass, because we need a much more effective approach,” Hansen said during a keynote lecture at Columbia University's climate conference on May 2, 2009. Hansen urged Congress to “abandon cap-and-trade initiatives altogether and implement a simple carbon tax instead” according to a May 4, 2009 article titled "Hansen hopes...

The language was apocalyptic. Last month, a leading climate scientist warned that Earth’s rising temperatures were poised to set off irreversible disasters if steps were not taken quickly to stop global warming. “The climate is nearing tipping points,” the NASA climate scientist James E. Hansen wrote in The Observer newspaper of London. “If we do not change course, we’ll hand our children a situation that is out of their control.” ... But the idea that the planet is nearing tipping points — thresholds at which change suddenly becomes unstoppable — has driven a wedge between scientists who otherwise share deep...

James Hansen, director of NASA’s Goddard Institute, has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the American Meteorological Society’s highest award, the Rossby Research Medal.I am appalled at this decision, which was announced January 14. Hansen has not been trained as a meteorologist—his formal education was in astronomy—and his long record of faulty global climate predictions and alarmist public pronouncements has become increasingly hollow and at odds with reality. False PredictionsBy presenting Hansen with its highest award, the American Meteorological Society (AMS) implies it agrees with his faulty global temperature projections and irresponsible alarmist rhetoric. This award is an...

Prominent hurricane forecaster Dr. William M. Gray, a professor at Colorado State University, appeared at The Heartland Institute's 2009 International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC) in New York on March 11 to elaborate on his theory that a natural cycle of ocean water temperatures related to the salinity (the amount of salt) in ocean water was responsible for some global warming that has taken place. Gray also distributed a document containing a scathing critique of Dr. James Hansen, the head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who is widely known for his outspokenness on the issue of manmade global...

Is it possible that one of the most outspoken figures of the global warming alarmist movement has violated ethical, if not legal boundaries in his job? John Theon, a retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist said he believed so. Theon an audience at The Heartland Institute’s 2009 International Conference on Climate Change (ICCC) in New York on March 11 that the head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, James Hansen, should be fired. Hansen is widely known for his outspokenness on the issue of manmade global warming. “I have publicly said I thought Jim Hansen should be fired,” Theon said....

Statement of William Happer Cyrus Fogg Brackett Professor of Physics Princeton UniversityBefore the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Senator Barbara Boxer, ChairFebruary 25, 2009Madam Chairman and members, thank you for the opportunity to appear before the Committee on Environment and Public Works to testify on Climate Change. My name is William Happer, and I am the Cyrus Fogg Bracket Professor of Physics at Princeton University. I am not a climatologist, but I don’t think any of the other witnesses are either. I do work in the related field of atomic, molecular and optical physics. I have spent my...

You may never have heard of Dr. James Hansen of NASA, whom the Left bills as the “world’s leading climate scientist.” This status was not achieved by virtue of training (he’s an astronomer), but because he’s the world’s most hysterical scientist on the issue who also happens to have a job with the United States government. As such, he was a useful idiot for the media these past eight years. Hansen’s obscurity is so great that he only managed to appear in or be the subject of two thousand “news” items during the George W. Bush presidency. As Hansen told...

NASA Scientist James Hansen has perpetrated one of the largest hoaxes known to modern man In the 1970s, while the rest of the world was waiting for “the next ice age” predicted by scientists in the 1960s, NASA Scientist James Hansen and three of his colleagues were investigating the impact that humans might have on climate change, specifically global warming. During his study Hansen concluded that the world needed to brace itself for a cycle of global warming brought on by man-made pollution. James Hansen is an award winning scientist and author with B.A degrees in physics, mathematics and astronomy....

By James M. Taylor Calls are mounting for President Barack Obama to fire James Hansen, the controversial figure in charge of climate studies at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Hansen has a record of allegedly doctoring temperature data to hype his argument that global warming is a crisis. The new calls for his resignation or termination come following his appearance in a video calling for civil disobedience at a protest at a power plant in Washington, DC(click to see video). “It is plainly improper for someone on the U.S. government payroll to advocate civil disobedience on behalf of...

[promotional video of protest is in article] The same global warming proponents who used to bully people into submission are now attempting to bore them into submission. James Hansen, the controversial NASA’s scientist and Al Gore toady, stars in a mind-numbingly dull new commercial promoting a March 2 protest at the Capitol Power Plant in Washington, DC. “We cannot burn all the fossil fuels without creating a very different planet,” Hansen drones. “The only practical way to solve the problem is to phase out the biggest source of carbon and that is coal.” Hansen is remarkably boring, production values are...

James Hansen of NASA has written an op-ed for the Guardian that, more than any other piece of his that I’ve seen, expresses his political philosophy. In a phrase, that philosophy can be characterized as “scientific authoritarianism.” Scientific authoritarianism, as I am using it here, holds that political decisions should be compelled by the political preferences of scientists. It is a very strong form of the “linear model” of science and decision making that I discuss in The Honest Broker. Hansen believes that the advice of experts, and specifically his advice alone, should compel certain political outcomes. He opens his...

[pictures] I struggled for a long time to think of an adequate way to summarize the latest political output of Dr X, who, it can now be revealed, is actually Dr James Hansen, Scientist. But, other than letting him speak for himself, I could not think of something that would point out the naked absurdity of Dr Hansen’s comments but would also not do a disservice to who I believe is an honest man. Who else but an honest man would publicly tell the German Chancellor (and others) that coal trains are “trains of death” and then go on to...

(an open letter)by Bill Gray Professor Emeritus Colorado State University (AMS Fellow, Charney Award recipient, and over 50-year member) I am appalled at the selection of James Hansen as this year’s recipient of the AMS’s highest award – the Rossby Research Medal. James Hansen has not been trained as a meteorologist. His formal education has been in astronomy. His long records of faulty global climate predictions and alarmist public pronouncements have become increasingly hollow and at odds with reality. Hansen has exploited the general public’s lack of knowledge of how the globe’s climate system functions for his own benefit. His...

James Hansen, one of Al Gore’s closest allies, has given thousands of speeches and written enough papers to kill a medium-sized forest. Yet he repeatedly says he was muzzled by the Bush administration. Oops. Hansen’s former boss, retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist, Dr. John Theon, says Hansen’s claims are nonsense. “Hansen was never muzzled even though he violated NASA’s official agency position on climate forecasting (i.e., we did not know enough to forecast climate change or mankind’s effect on it). Hansen thus embarrassed NASA by coming out with his claims of global warming in 1988 in his testimony before Congress,”...

James Hansen, head of the Goddard Institute and Guru of the Church of Global Warming has a philosophy, "If God deals you bad numbers--fudge them." Hansen is the guy who came out with the announcement that October was the warmest in history and then, "OOPS NEVER MIND." The Grand Poobah of warming screwed up the numbers. It was actually a quite average month. Ranked 70th in the last 114 years. And guess what? Its wasn't the first time Hansen has screwed up his numbers. In 2007 he was forced by Mr Watts and Mr McIntyre to revise his published figures...

"Coal plants are factories of death," declared NASA climate modeler James Hansen in a letter to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Last year, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), now chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, introduced the "." That bill would have placed a moratorium on issuing permits for new coal-fired power plants that don't have the ability to capture and store carbon dioxide emissions. Since that technology is still being tested, it means that no new coal-fired power plants would have been permitted. In early 2008, Obama told the editorial board of the San...

Pity the poor global warming alarmists such as Al Gore, James Hansen of NASA, and the Weather Channel's Heidi Cullen. They went way out on the limb in promoting the absolute certainity of global warming and now Mother Nature is sawing it off behind them with the coldest weather in decades. To spare themselves complete embarrassment, you might have noticed that many media outlets and global warming promoters are backing off from that term and are now using "climate change" more frequently. Last Friday, one of the big global warming promoters on the Huffington Post, Kevin Grandia, publicly struggled over...
