Pity the poor global warming alarmists such as Al Gore, James Hansen of NASA, and the Weather Channel's Heidi Cullen. They went way out on the limb in promoting the absolute certainity of global warming and now Mother Nature is sawing it off behind them with the coldest weather in decades. To spare themselves complete embarrassment, you might have noticed that many media outlets and global warming promoters are backing off from that term and are now using "climate change" more frequently. Last Friday, one of the big global warming promoters on the Huffington Post, Kevin Grandia, publicly struggled over whether to replace the older phrase with "climate change":

Snow predicted for today and maybe tomorrow at the Obama inaugural with temperature dropping to 19 degrees according to forecasts and no higher than 30 degrees. 15 mph winds that are forecast will lower how it feels out there due to the wind chill factor. Will Al Gore be out there on the podium bundled up in heavy clothes due to the freezing weather?

Don't forget that the great global warming propaganda movie The Day After Tomorrow ended up with NYC locked in a -60° freeze, with a freighter frozen in the flooded streets of Manhattan.

As long as they get their carbon taxes and can manipulate and control world habits and standards of living, they don't care if it's "Global Warming," "Global Cooling," or "Global Climate Change."

It's really about "Global Domination."

Obama has already proclaimed that he is on board the Global Warming train with his speech yesterday in Baltimore. One of the crises that must be addressed immediately was;

"A planet that's warming -- although you can't tell today -- from our unsustainable dependence on oil."

Latest report (weather, if not climate, predictions change constantly in this area): Tuesday - Partly sunny in the morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 30s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Ain't bad ~ but it'll feel like 20 degrees to a lot of folks when that wind kicks up. I'd wear more than a light coat, and certainly something on the head ~

They’re only backing off because it’s so hard to sell global warming to a public that’s freezing. Have no fear, Global Warming (A.K.A. Climate Change) will be back soon because is a migratory creature: it flies South in September and back North in April.

What we have entered, and have been in for a while now, is the era of the “alarmist”. No matter what the alarm is (global warming, global cooling, environmentalism, perpetual war etc.), it scares people and allows the alarmist to manipulate the populace to do their bidding. This is the result of modern communications which allows the alarmist to reach so many people (TV, internet etc) in such a short and quick fashion.

My suggestion? Cancel your cable, stop buying newspapers, do not watch the main networks news programs and get all your news from FR.

The Warmists take normal cyclic warming and turn it into Catastrophic Global Temperature Rise.

Now that the cycle seems to have reversed, they don’t dare let go. After all, the carbon tax and cap&trade are both dependent on the catastrophic nature of a hockey stick (thanks, James Hansen for the discredited H.S. That can be horse hockey or hockey stick, which ever you prefer).

Algore is flailing around with guarantees that the polar ice cap will be gone in 5 years. Hansen is making predictions about having only 4 years to reverse catastrophic CO2 buildup. The warmers have become desperate.

My 2 cents --- When you consider all the recent climate hoaxes, and there have been four starting back in the 1930s, they all suffer from one problem — There is no supporting science.

However, since Oct 2005 when Ap dropped off and the sun went quite, no sunspots, for the first time we observed what MAY be a phase change in the sun. And I emphasis MAY, since no one knows for sure. Since then, everything points cold.

We don't know if a similar event with the sun ever happened before, since we had no way of measuring it. From here on all we can do is watch and wait.

It's plausible that the sun cycles in 100,000 year intervals, burning brightly for 10,000 years of warm interglacial and then going quite for 100,000 years of glaciation. Earth is at the end of the Holocene interglacial right about now. Keep good records.

It is interesting that recently Flux Transfer Events(FTE) were discovered as a mechanism of transferring particle energy from the Sun to the Earth, and that involves magnetic fields. FTEs were talked about in the literature for decades before the THEMIS constellation verified it was real. Information about FTEs can be found here.

Your guess is as good as mine. But one thing that is undeniable, it's getting cold on planet Earth.

The AGW hoax will and perhaps already is taking down the entire industrialized world as well as hurting the non-industrialized areas that supply commodities of various sorts to the industrialized.

Ask them just how this benefits the planet, itself, when we live on a world that exhibits homeostasis.

It is no different than banana peels to get you high or affirmations to get you whatever you want. It is just a self-perpetuating meme they have all decided to believe.

Governments could become totally solvent, if not glutted with revenue, if they allowed energy and other commodity resource extraction and took the present level of royalties and taxes. Warming or cooling, the energy would keep the populace comfortable, obviating the inevitable revolution that their present policies seem to assure. The taxes would fund their wildest dreams of subsidy. Present technology would assure that there was little to no additional degradation of the environment.

Instead, they are tanking the economy while making certain that individuals are pressured to come up with their own methods of keeping warm or cool. That pressure, combined with the free-floating anxiety generated by the constant iteration of the disaster meme, is going to insure the downfall of this progressive regime.

So, its all fun and games until governments fall.

Yesterday there was a documentary on about how they build hotels in Switzerland entirely out of ice. It showed them harvesting huge blocks of ice from the ocean to make the foundation. Hubby said something like "that's pretty cool", and I said, "how the heck are they getting the ice when all the ice is melted??"

I don't know if she is lying or if she believes what she is saying. Regardless, I cannot stand Heidi Cullen and her holier than thou preaching that humans are causing global warming and how we must stop it. It's true that pride goeth before a fall and she is carbon exhaling proof that idiots goeth for Algore and global warming.
