The internet was abuzz following a story by David Samuels on the jerk who admitted he manipulated the truth to get the president’s absurd deal with Iran accepted (accepted, that is, by the Democrats in Congress who blocked a Republican resolution to reject it). In case you missed it I’ll provide a quick summary of the salient parts, but that shouldn’t be the end of the story: the press having allowed itself to be flimflammed into being mere White House megaphones needs to redeem itself, should it care to win back even the tiniest shred of credibility. It probably won’t,...

This post incorporates in its entirety an article posted on September 22nd by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). That article reports that Iran has stated, openly, that intends to violate U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231. UNSCR 2231 relates to Iran's missile development and the imposition of related sanctions. I have highlighted in bold print the most salient parts of the MEMRI post. Please see also an article I posted earlier today titled Iran wants to renegotiate parts of the nuke “deal.” That may be good. The new development relating to UNSCR 2231, combined with Iran's position that if the JCPOA (the "deal") is...

Iran wants sanctions relief to be lifted, immediately, and not merely suspended. Iran should not get that. If it doesn't, it may well terminate the "deal" unilaterally. If Iran gets what it wants, the Senate should review the "deal" as a treaty and reject it. Either outcome would be a substantial improvement over the current "deal" and the morass in which it is embedded. This post is based on a September 21st article at Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) titled "Expected September 28 NY Meeting Between P5+1 Foreign Ministers And Iran Could Signify Reopening Of Nuclear Negotiations To Address Khamenei’s September...

Courtesy of Obama, Iran's mushroom clouds will be produced by detonating atomic bombs. Obama's mushroom clouds, with help from His friends, have already been and continue to be detonated. They thrive in the absence of light and contain copious quantities of bovine fecal matter. This limerick, if applied to Obama, makes sense:Last night I saw upon the stair A little man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh how I wish he'd go away!I. Obama gave Iran its mushroom cloudSeveral conservative media recently focused on Obama's claim, made in His August 5, 2015 address praising His "deal," that Iran had agreed to negotiate only after President Rouhani replaced Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on...

In 2011, well before the multilateral P5+1 "negotiations" with Iran began in February of 2013, Obama put Senator John Kerry in charge of "secret bilateral negotiations on the [Iranian] nuclear dossier." Kerry then advised Iranian officials that "we are definitely and sincerely willing, and we can resolve the issues" -- including Uranium enrichment and the Possible Military Dimensions (PMDs) of Iran's nuclear program. Iran's nuclear weaponization and missile development programs have been substantially ignored ever since. Ernest Moniz, who was to become Kerry's technical adviser, was brought into the P5+1 negotiations at the specific request of the Iranian official -- Moniz' former MIT classmate -- who was to be his counterpart. The...

An Iranian official recently stated that no International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) personnel will be permitted to enter military or missile sites. Another stated that "no country is permitted to know the details of future inspections conducted by the IAEA." Their statements are probably consistent. There may well be other secret deals we don't know about and perhaps never will. Meanwhile, Iran is preparing to test long range ballistic missiles "to prove that the missile ban was invalid." It's not MY fault. I. No IAEA inspections of the sites that matter mostIn an interview on Al Jazeera TV last week Ali Akbar Velayati, Security Adviser to...

What, if anything, do "we" now stand for and why?An article published on April 9th by the Gatestone Institute International Policy Council is titled U.S.: The Great Problem that Needs to be Solved. Written by Elliot Abrams, it contends that the problem has at its center the world view of President Obama. His world view is based primarily on ideology rather than reality; its bases are evident in all that He and His minions do and fail to do. The problem also impacts domestic policy, implemented by Executive Decree when He "won't wait." If the Democrats control neither house of the Congress following the November elections, there...
