There is a little craziness happening in Iowa and with University of Iowa basketball star, Caitlin Clark. She just set the NCAA all-time women’s scoring record and can make even more history this season by passing Hall of Famer Pete Maravich of LSU for the all-time NCAA scoring record set in 1970. With two games remaining in the season, Miss Clark averaging ~30 points a game and just needs 51 points to break Pistol Pete’s record that he set during his three seasons in Baton Rouge. But the leftist media’s treatment of Caitlin Clark shows just how corrupt the compromised...

Caitlin Clark had no specific plan for how she hoped to break the NCAA women's basketball scoring record Thursday. But after doing so while also setting the Iowa Hawkeyes' single-game scoring record, Clark had to grin. "You all knew I was going to shoot a logo 3 for the record," said Clark, who now has 3,569 career points, 49 of them coming Thursday. And indeed, every aspect of the night seemed storybook perfect for the senior star. (Snip) She was far from done, though. Clark went 8-of-10 from the field -- 5-of-7 from 3-point range -- in the first quarter,...

A fertilizer spill into the Nishnabotna River containing 1,500 tons of a liquid nitrogen solution is annihilating the aquatic wildlife in the river, including the portion in Missouri. According to Ecological Health Unit Science Supervisor with the Missouri Department of Conservation Matt Combes, the spill has affected 60 miles of the Nishnabotna River, including the 10 miles in Missouri. Combes said the spill has led to a near total fish kill, with an estimated 40,000 fish dying in the Missouri portion. "That included catfish of the size that anglers like to catch and shovelnose sturgeon... and blue suckers and other...

Des Moines, Iowa — The Iowa House has voted to set limits for the pay of temporary nursing staff working in Iowa hospitals and nursing homes. A traveling nurse could be paid no more than 150 percent of the statewide average wage being paid to full-time healthcare staff who provide nursing services. The bill is a priority for House Republicans, who contend temp agencies are reaping too much of the extra money the legislature has provided nursing homes. Representative Timi Brown-Powers, a Democrat from Waterloo, is a therapist at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, She says the bill addresses a...

A federal court dismissed a case Tuesday against Republican Iowa Gov. Kimberly Reynolds’ prohibition of mask mandate in school districts across the state, official documents showed. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit found “persuasive” the argument that “the general risks associated with COVID-19, even though COVID-19 remains an ever-present concern in society, are not enough to show ‘imminent and substantial’ harm,” court papers showed in part. The court also decided that “because Plaintiffs have only alleged the potential risk of severe illness should they contract COVID-19 at school, the risk of harm is too speculative to satisfy...

The massive amount of money spent in the first three primaries of the 2024 cycle shows how strong Trump’s grassroots support is around the nation. The money spent also reveals the number of resources the Republican Party did not spend on defeating President Joe Biden. Leading up to Saturday’s election. To say it’s been an extremely rough 12 months for trans activists in the state of Iowa would be an understatement. Last March, the governor of Iowa signed legislation banning doctors from giving puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors. The law also outlawed the genital mutilation of children. There was nothing particularly unusual about this bill. It resembled legislation that had already been passed in Tennessee, Mississippi, Utah, South Dakota, Arizona, Arkansas, Alabama, and several other states. But trans activists in Iowa thought of a somewhat unique way to protest the ban. For reasons that still aren’t entirely clear,...

SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The topic of arming teachers in schools comes up periodically after shootings take place. Now, one school in Iowa is turning that talk into action and arming staff members, KTIV reported. "About 18 months ago, we just started looking at options. And obviously, to take the step to have armed staff in our school is a big one. And it requires a lot of conversation with a lot of stakeholders," said Siouxland Christian School Supt. Lindsay Laurich. It's a big step in school security. "My ultimate responsibility here is to protect this building to make sure...

In his first interview since dropping out of the presidential race, DeSantis told Blaze TV’s Steve Deace that the blame is on Iowa caucusgoers who rallied behind front-runner Donald Trump even though many didn’t like him. “They did not want to see Trump nominated again, but they had basically been told that it was inevitable, that it was over,” DeSantis told Deace on Tuesday. DeSantis, who lost to Trump in the Iowa caucuses earlier this month, added that those voters were “checked out” and had “just totally dropped out of the process.” The Florida governor told Deace he’d consider running...
