Mary Taylor used her strongest words yet in saying Ohio won't set up its own state-run health insurance exchange, instead deferring to the federal government to establish the key programs required under the Affordable Care Act. BOISE, Idaho — The state has applied for millions of dollars in federal funding to establish a health insurance exchange, but any plans to spend the money will still need approval from the Republican-dominated Idaho Legislature and could face an uphill battle in 2012. Idaho House Republicans' disdain of the health care overhaul passed by Congress doomed a previous effort to set aside federal money to help Idaho set up a statewide exchange. Lawmakers voted 50-15 in March to kill an appropriations bill that included the $2.5 million in federal cash.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Walgreens, the nation's largest drugstore chain, is planning to start selling health insurance to customers this fall. Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens (WAG, Fortune 500) will sell health insurance products with different price ranges and coverage levels from coast-to-coast through a private health insurance exchange, according to people familiar with the matter.

WASHINGTON - Kansas became on Tuesday the second U.S. state to return a large federal grant meant to help it create a prototype health insurance exchange as part of the Obama administration's healthcare overhaul.
