WASHINGTON (AP) - The House considered a bill Monday that would reinforce support for references to God in the Pledge of Allegiance and the national motto. The measure, scheduled to be voted on Tuesday, is expected to pass overwhelmingly. In addition to reaffirming support for the words "under God" in the pledge, it also reiterates that "In God we trust" is the national motto.
