“If I had to guess, twenty five cents, this would be exactly that,” Bloomberg said. “Homegrown maybe a mentally deranged person or someone with a political agenda that doesn’t like the health care bill or something. It could be anything.”

Pelosi and the Tea Party 'Share Views' February 28, 2010 8:15 AM House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she has much in common with the Tea Party. The speaker now says she shares views with movement she dismissed last summer as being “Astroturf” -- her suggestion that the grassroots of the Tea Party were a creation of the Republican Party. In a “This Week” interview with ABC’s Elizabeth Vargas, Pelosi said, “We share some of the views of the Tea Partiers in terms of the role of special interest in Washington, D.C., as -- it just has to stop. And that's...

Much has been made of President Obama's recent about-face on tax increases for the middle class. Obama says he is now "an agnostic." What this really means is that he has no conviction, no plan, and no blueprint, and he will increase taxes as long as somebody else tells him to do it. Obama's admirers will point to his ambivalence as "cool and detached." "Deliberate and thoughtful" are like-minded badges describing a powerful intellect making an agonizing choice among equally unattractive alternatives. This has been Obama's style in dealing with Iran, terrorist captives, and economic recovery. Don't be fooled. For...

Here is video of President Obama being interviewed by CNN's Ed Henry. Obama was asked about whether he met with his half-brother who lives in China. Obama said he "does not know him well," but that he met with him for about five-minutes while in China. Obama declared in the interview that he has "restored America's standing in the world." He admitted he did not sign off on the decision to try 9/11 Conspirators in civilian court in New York! He was evasive at first, but Henry clarified it for him by saying, "You did not sign off on the...

THE EGO HAS LANDED During his campaign, Barack Obama took a moment while walking to his jet to stop and answer a couple of questions, off-the-cuff and ad-lib, for a gaggle of paparazzi swooning and fawning behind a rope-line en-route from the terminal. As an affable Hussein smiled congenially at his biggest fans, a reporter went badly rogue and asked the candidate a tough question regarding his birth certificate; something along the lines of, “Why won’t you just show it?” The smile, which had never quite reached his eyes anyway, twisted into a thin-lipped snarl, as those eyes went steely...

Enough is enough, Harry Stop the childish bullying This newspaper traces its roots to before Las Vegas was Las Vegas. We've seen cattle ranches give way to railroads. We chronicled the construction of Hoover Dam. We reported on the first day of legalized gambling. The first hospital. The first school. The first church. We survived the mob, Howard Hughes, the Great Depression, several recessions, two world wars, dozens of news competitors and any number of two-bit politicians who couldn't stand scrutiny, much less criticism. We're still here doing what we do for the people of Las Vegas and Nevada. So,...

Just when we all thought that we had seen how filthy, how deceitfully despicable, and how completely un-trustworthy Barack Hussein 0bama could be, the worst president in all of America’s otherwise rich and proud history has hit a new low. We, as citizens of this constitutional republic, are being asked and encouraged by this chipmunk to report on our neighbors and co-workers if we see or overhear them saying anything negative (or “fishy”) about the Obonehead-proposed Government Run Health Care proposal. This because, to quote them, “The White House can’t monitor” everything being said by everyone, be it in emails,...

What class! What tact! On the Feb. 19 “Larry King Live,” Joy Behar showed that the high level of discourse found on ABC’s “The View” is portable. Filling in for Larry King, Behar interviewed conservative author Ann Coulter. At one point the following exchange took place: Behar: … I read this study one time – don’t ask me where because I don’t remember where I read it – but they said that conservative women have more orgasms than liberal women. Coulter: Oh yeah, that was in [Coulter’s book] “Godless.” Behar: Why do you think that’s true? Coulter: Uh, it’s heavily...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senator John McCain said on Friday that President Barack Obama should include Republicans in his plans sooner if he really wants their support after the bitter debate over the $787 billion economic stimulus bill. McCain, who lost the 2008 presidential election to Obama, and other Republicans complained they had been left out of negotiations on the legislation by Democrats who hold majorities in both houses of Congress. McCain said the bill was filled with non-emergency spending paid for with borrowed money that future generations will have to pay back. "I think that the majority of people understand...

What's the cause of $4 for a gallon of gasoline? To listen to Democrats in Congress and on the campaign trail -- and also some Republicans -- the answer is "price gouging," "speculation," "oil companies" or "the failed policies of George Bush and Dick Cheney." Everything is getting blamed except the well-documented obvious: the law of supply and demand. The history of U.S. energy policy is that Democrats have refused to increase supply and Republicans have refused to curtail demand. They are both to blame for $4 gasoline -- and they'd better get together to keep Americans from paying $200...

What? Barack Obama just creamed John McCain in the nationwide popular vote, but McCain prevails because he won in the Electoral College? What? California went for a Republican for the first time since 1988, giving McCain a decisive 55 electoral votes? Neither scenario is implausible. The referendum in California to reverse a state Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage seems certain to bring out hundreds of thousands of conservative voters. And if enough irate Hillary Clinton voters carry out their threats to sit out the election or even vote for McCain, ol’ Mac would be in clover. Some...

(Jimmy Carter is spending some quiet time with his Hamas friends.) UPRIGHT “America elected Jimmy Carter 32 years ago and is still paying the price. Suppose history repeats: Obama wins and has a failed one-term presidency. Will he be jetting around the world meeting with terrorists and despots and denouncing America in 2040? Maybe not, but the thought gives us a shudder.” —James Taranto “It seems there is scarcely a serious bad actor on the planet with whom Jimmy Carter has not met. He is a serial tyrant-enabler, the very personification of Rodney King’s risible appeal, ‘Can’t we all get...

To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine... And those who don't. As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting. Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information: I'm doing it as a public service.

An American researcher who believes she has found the final resting place of Jesus Christ is campaigning to exhume a body at a Muslim shrine in Kashmir for scientific tests. Suzanne Marie Olsson, a New York-based researcher is currently in Srinagar, studying the Muslim shrine of Rozabal. While Muslims say Rozabal houses the tomb of Yuza Asaf, a Muslim saint, many researchers believe it contains the body of Jesus Christ. To put an end to speculation Olsson has suggested exhuming the remains at Rozabal for DNA testing and carbon dating. quot; This will trace him (the saint) to his origin ......

DUBLIN, Ireland - Former President Jimmy Carter said yesterday Washington's support for the Fatah group and the blocking of aid to Gaza were part of a mistaken policy aimed at dividing Palestinians. Carter, on a visit to Dublin, said the United States and Israel had done "everything they could to prevent accommodation between Hamas and Fatah." "This effort to divide Palestine into two peoples . . . is a step in the wrong direction."

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid released the following statement on today's vote in the United States Senate in which a bipartisan majority voted against President Bush's flawed plan to escalate the war. "Today, a bipartisan majority of the United States Senate voted against the President's flawed plan to escalate the war. The Senate joined the House of Representatives, put itself on the record, and told the President that America needs a new direction in Iraq. As for the Republicans who chose once again to block further debate and protect President Bush, the American people now know they support the escalation....

Thank you, Mr. Chief Justice. My fellow Californians, three years ago you elected me as your governor. These three years have been the most fulfilling of my life. Every day has been an adventure. My escapes have been more hair-raising than anything I did in the movies. And throughout it all, it has been an absolute joy to serve you -- the people of California. Thank you, I am grateful beyond words for your continued faith and hope. Faith and hope are two qualities that are in short supply in the world right now. When I was a boy in...

HAROLD Ford, a handsome 36-year-old from Tennessee, has become one of the sensations of the mid-term elections in the US and a reason why Democrats are a good chance of winning back control of the US Congress for the first time in 12 years. But if Mr Ford, already a US congressman, wins his bid to become a more powerful senator, Australia had better watch out. Because according to Mr Ford, Australia has an interest in nuclear weapons and is part of the broader nuclear threat to the US. In a speech to county government officials yesterday in Knoxville, Mr...
