DUBLIN, Ireland - Former President Jimmy Carter said yesterday Washington's support for the Fatah group and the blocking of aid to Gaza were part of a mistaken policy aimed at dividing Palestinians.
Carter, on a visit to Dublin, said the United States and Israel had done "everything they could to prevent accommodation between Hamas and Fatah."
"This effort to divide Palestine into two peoples . . . is a step in the wrong direction."

If peace and stability are the goal, then the areas in question should be given over to Egypt and Jordan. I don’t know about Jordan, but Egyptians live in a free society that respects individual rights, so why not?
How about this for an idea: a NEW government in Palestine that is NOT a terrorist organization??? I don’t care what they claim, or what they do for show, both Fatah and Hamas are terrorist organizations — not political parties...
There was a quote I saw on another thread today from Condolezza Rice talking about supplying Hamas with money (and possibly more if I’m not mistaken). I’ll try to find the quote and if I do I’ll post it on the thread as a response to this post...
You know... the idea of the United States giving aid and comfort to any terrorist organization actively targeting our ally (Israel), is completely illogical. But then, when has our government done anything that makes sense??? (At least not lately...)
