Dubai -- US airstrikes targeting an oil port held by Yemen’s Houthi rebels killed 74 people and wounded 171 others, the group said Friday, marking the single-deadliest known attack under President Donald Trump’s new campaign targeting the rebels. Assessing the toll of Trump’s campaign, which began March 15, has been incredibly difficult as the US military’s Central Command so far has not released any information on the campaign, its specific targets and how many people have been killed. Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels strictly control access to areas attacked and don’t publish information on the strikes, many of which likely have...

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched a ballistic missile at Israel overnight on Christmas Eve into Christmas Day, sending millions of Israelis into bomb shelters in the middle of the night for the second night in a row. Though the missile was intercepted by Israel’s defenses outside domestic airspace, pieces of shrapnel fell on Israeli cities below. “Sirens regarding rocket a missile launches were activated due to the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday that the Greek-owned coal carrier MV Tutor, struck by Houthi missiles and an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) on July 12, has sunk in the Red Sea. The Tutor became the second ship sunk by the Iran-backed Yemeni terrorists since they began their campaign of wanton attacks on commercial shipping in November. It also appears to have been the first ship to be severely damaged by a Houthi USV attack. The weapon was evidently a remote-controlled small boat packed with explosives.

Israel struck targets around the Houthi-held Red Sea port of Hodeidah, retaliating for a drone attack on Tel Aviv by the Iran-backed militants that killed a man and exposed a vulnerability in Israeli air defenses. The airstrikes targeted a power station and fuel storage sites, the Yemen-based group said. A Houthi-run television showed flames and smoke raging in installations it said were hit. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the port was used as a gateway for Iranian weapons supplies to the Houthis.
