The Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched a ballistic missile at Israel overnight on Christmas Eve into Christmas Day, sending millions of Israelis into bomb shelters in the middle of the night for the second night in a row.
Though the missile was intercepted by Israel’s defenses outside domestic airspace, pieces of shrapnel fell on Israeli cities below.
“Sirens regarding rocket a missile launches were activated due to the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

The Houthis cannot be defeated with air strikes. If the threat is to be eliminated, it would take a ground invasion, boots on the ground, hard fighting on tough terrain and significant casualties. The Saudis and the Israelis have both declined. Hopefully the crazies in the State Department and the Pentagon will be restrained and fired by Trump.
