Houthis Sink Their Second Ship in Red Sea: a Greek-Owned Coal Carrier

United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday that the Greek-owned coal carrier MV Tutor, struck by Houthi missiles and an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) on July 12, has sunk in the Red Sea.

The Tutor became the second ship sunk by the Iran-backed Yemeni terrorists since they began their campaign of wanton attacks on commercial shipping in November. It also appears to have been the first ship to be severely damaged by a Houthi USV attack. The weapon was evidently a remote-controlled small boat packed with explosives.

How sorry is leadership in the world?

Churchill had some legit commandos in WW2.

Thatcher had SAS.

I’m inclined to think that neither would need convincing to send ‘pipe hitters’ to Yemen for some payback.

Whether Yemen wanted them to or not.

Wait a minute. A Greek ship, carrying coal, is sunk by Yemen? How exactly is that a British problem?

Are we back in 1925?

So the Yemeni terrorists aren’t concerned with the environmental impact from the sinking of the coal carrier?

Seems like that would upset this administration.

Under the crapulous Biden Regime the ragtag Houthis have defeated the U.S. Navy.

They are using suicide boats now, which are cheaper than drones.

I think people need to reorient their thinking, it’s not sorry leadership when they get exactly what they want from a situation.

We spend billions each year on a Navy that can’t stop goat herders in flip flops from closing down a vital world shipping lane.

The only logical reason why is we are allowing it to go on because we want it to go on, we are shooting down $10,000 drones with Million Dollar missiles, ask yourself who benefits from that and it takes you a long way in determining why this nonsense is allowed to continue.

The longer this goes on, the more million-dollar missiles get shot, the million-dollar missiles we purchase and the more money the MIC makes.

Those Houthi’s are so good they’re sinking ships in the future.

For the same reason Biden is slow walking munitions to Israel and brokering a ‘peace’ deal that leaves Hamas intact. You get it now?

I would think just on the basis of safe and free movement on the high seas would necessitate taking these animals out.

I agree with your point, but FWIW, the fact that it's a Greek owned vessel, means less than nothing.

Wanna stop this crap? We should be decisive by dropping fuel-air-vapor bombs on their operations.

I long for the days of a certain president who got pissed off and sunk a country’s entire navy.

That gets people’s attention.

A Greek ship, carrying coal to Greece? Maybe the Greek Navy needs to do something. Someone was saying how the piss poor British Navy needed to do something and I cannot understand why Brits would be involved here.

Possibly it had an Isle of Man registry. Not that it means anything. Who knows what flag it was sailing under?
Don’t assume that the cargo was coming from or to Greece, it’s not likely. Probably from Germany to Japan with a Chinese and Pilipino crew, just speculating.
Either way, no one country has any interest in this. That’s why it’s impossible to prosecute for crimes committed on the high seas.
You can’t imagine what happens when stow aways are found. Although if you can imagine a wooden pallet, rope, and, if available, guns, you’d be on the right trail.
