New campaign finance records released today show that presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton are leading in the battle for Iowans' pocketbooks. Overall, Iowans as of Sept. 30 have given about $834,000 to presidential candidates since the beginning of the campaign, Federal Election Commission records show. But that sum is a blip compared to more populous states, including first-place California, where residents have come up with $51.2 million to finance the race for the White House.
