I was wondering of there are any FReepers that can help me out a bit. I am doing a presentation in school on the justification of the Iraq war. I want to have some quotes from Clinton Admin. officials talking about the dangers posed by Saddam and his WMD's. Also, i want some numbers as to the types of weapons that we have found in different caches throughout the country since we liberated Iraq. If anyone has some links to articles or free republic threads that they could post, it would be very much appreciated. Also, if anyone has any...

The following thoughts and comments are not my own. Liars by Omission II Whether or not Congress had access to or was given complete, factual, and accurate information by Bush & Co. prior to the “vote to go to war with Iraq” has been a topic of much debate on my blog. The same individuals who want to believe that Bush & Co. are on the “up and up” also believe that Bush & Co. were forthright with their information and incapable of manufacturing reasons to go to war with Iraq. Ten (10) days after September 11th, Bush & Co....

I'm suddenly getting the above message and I can't get rid of it. I've unloaded and reloaded Internet explorer 6 countless times over the past 5 days as well as patches, updates, virus checks, bot checks, et al. and keep coming up with the same problem. My e-mail is affected too. "kernel32.dll", whatever that means, seems to come into play here as well. Anyone know anything about this?

Hi All.Sorry for the blatant vanity.Since my stereo receiver died, I'd like to connect my Turntable to my PC.I bought a "Y Connector" to plug the RCA terminals into the "Line In" of my sound board but the interference is so terrible I can't stand it.My Motherboard does have a S/PDIF terminal on it but I can't shell out all the cabbage for a S/PDIF enabled turntable.Have any other freepers done this? Many Thanks in advance.

ANNAPOLIS — When their son was deployed to Iraq two years ago, Martin "Marty" Horn and his wife, Suzanne, started sending him packages from their home in La Plata. They soon found he was sharing them with soldiers in his unit who were not receiving mail, so the Horns started sending packages to these soldiers as well. Today that simple gesture has become a Web site, AnySoldier.com, that helps packages and letters reach almost half the soldiers deployed in Iraq, or about 95,000 troops, according to the Web site. "It's about increasing the morale of troops. It's about support, not...

I am in the market for a couple of 21" or larger flat panel monitors. I had four Sony 21" tube type monitors that are slowly dying, I'm down to two. Looking to upgrade to flat panel LCD type. Anyone have a good online place to buy reputably and inexpensively (relatively speaking that is) Thanks for any input.

I have somehow picked up a program called "Spyaxe3.0" on my HP laptop running Windows XP. It claims to be an antispyware program. Since it appears to have installed itself, I have removed it several times with "Add/Remove Programs". I have also done a search and deleted all files related to it that I can find. It causes me to obtain "security alerts" on the toolbar at the bottom of my screen that lead to the Spyaxe website when clicked. Despite my attempts to remove it, it will often reappear when I reboot or start the computer.I have scanned the...

Please offer your expertise and research into the "State of the High Definition TV". Is plasma or LCD the way to go? I heard that most of the makers bring out new models in the April-May period next year. Will prices for 2005 models plunge then after New Year's? What manufacturers offer superior quality? Should one wait a year or two due to rapid change in technology? When will the technology advancement in HD TV slow? Best Buy has a 42 inch plasma from Panasonic for about $2900. What types of prices are you seeing out there for various size...

I wanted to post a follow-up about our returning war hero. First of all thank you FReepers for posting all your heart felt comments to him. I gave him a copy of all the comments and he was visibly moved. He was met at the airport by a group of eight of us, all with signs cheering his arrival. We then went to my friends house and had a welcome home party for him. A number of other people came over and it turned out to be a real nice party for him. He was very willing to talk about...

11/18/2005 - ELMENDORF AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska (AFPN) -- Anchorage police are calling two Airmen heroic for their actions in helping catch a truck thief. Staff Sgts. Joseph Harder and William Young, of the 3rd Equipment Maintenance Squadron’s aerospace ground equipment section, pulled off the feat. The two were on their way to a restaurant, for a going-away luncheon, when a delivery truck crossed their path Nov. 9. “We had just pulled into the parking lot when the truck cut us off,” Sergeant Harder said. “Then we noticed the delivery driver running after his truck with his hands in the...

AR RAMADI, Iraq (Nov. 17, 2005) -- In a dusty outpost 40 km. from the Iranian border, the future of Iraq is being built from the ground up. Home to approximately 8,000 Iraqi Army (IA) soldiers and about 150 coalition trainers, the An Numaniyah training base is where many Iraqi soldiers, also known as “Jundi,” get their first taste of life in the army. Although a far cry from Parris Island, the Iraqi equivalent to boot camp offers local men the opportunity to help secure the country as it continues to bolster its ranks against the ongoing insurgency. Despite the...
