Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) holds a slim but statistically insignificant lead over Rep. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) in the Nevada Senate race with a month left until Election Day, a poll released Tuesday found. An NBC News/Marist poll shows Heller leading 46-44 percent among likely voters. The difference falls within the poll's margin of error of 5.5 points. Heller is considered one of the most vulnerable Republican senators up for reelection next month. The poll found that independents favor Heller, 42-39 percent. The incumbent is also the preferred candidate among likely male voters by a 16-point margin. Rosen holds an 11-point...

Nevada Democrat is ‘bought and paid’ by her ‘out-of-state donors,’ he says Aiming to boost vulnerable Nevada Sen. Dean Heller on his home turf amid a fierce re-election bid, President Donald Trump dubbed the Republican a “champion” of conservative causes and called his Democratic foe “wacky.” “There’s been no better friend — we started off slow — but I’ve had no better friend in Congress than Dean Heller,” Trump said Thursday at a campaign rally in Las Vegas. Trump first singled out Danny Tarkanian, who is in a close fight for Nevada’s open 3rd District seat. Trump then soon hailed...

Once upon a time, Corey Anthony Booker seemed like “a statesman.” As mayor of Newark, New Jersey, he talked to everybody, made deals, comported himself with dignity. He stood out from the pack; he was seen as an up-and-comer. Yet move him to the Senate and place him in front of national cameras? He has become something of a loon. “This is about the closest I’ll probably ever have in my life to an ‘I am Spartacus’ moment,” he said, referring to his leakage of confidential information about Supreme Court nominee Brett Michael Kavanaugh during this week’s hearings. Say what?...

President Donald Trump heads to Nevada, where the Affordable Care Act is perhaps the most important issue in a pivotal Senate race. GOP Sen. Dean Heller, who voted for a bill to repeal parts of Obamacare after pledging to oppose an earlier version, is facing a tough re-election bid against Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen. Nevada saw a massive decrease in its uninsured rate after it expanded Medicaid under the health care law. As he pushed Senate Republicans to repeal the Affordable Care Act last year, President Donald Trump zeroed in on Sen. Dean Heller. When the president had lunch with...

Nevada Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller said Wednesday he's willing to bet $100 that the Senate will confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by the end of the month. But if there's any delay, he's confident the nominee will be confirmed before November's midterm elections. Heller made the comments on "Nevada Newsmakers ," and is in a tough re-election battle this year and is the only Republican senator running for another term in a state that Democrat Hillary Clinton won in 2016. The senator has portrayed himself to conservatives as the only thing standing in the way of Democrats taking...

In February, the campaign team of Democratic Rep. Jacky Rosen saw a pay bump — thanks to the Republican tax plan. Rep. Rosen is challenging Sen. Dean Heller, and she’s repeatedly voiced her opposition to the tax cuts Republicans passed last year. The tax cuts will “increase the economic anxiety of too many Nevada families at their kitchen tables,” she wrote in November. In December, she called it a “disastrous tax scheme” and accused Heller of raising taxes on “hardworking Nevadans.” Given their refusal to return phone calls seeking comment, it’s debatable whether Rosen’s staff qualifies as “hardworking.” What’s not...

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and his allies are preparing primary challenges against Republican senators, a source close to Bannon confirmed to CNN. The target list includes Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker, Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, Alabama Sen. Luther Strange, Nevada Sen. Dean Heller and Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, the source said. Flake, a strong critic of Trump, has not backed down from the President in the wake of Trump's public attacks against him. Politico first reported the developments. The news comes as Bannon claimed "the Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election" in an interview that...

“Our booking team, and they’re good, reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today. Let’s be honest. Republicans often don’t really mind coming on Fox News Channel. We couldn’t get anyone to come and defend him here because we thought, in balance, someone should do that. We worked very hard at it throughout the day, and we were unsuccessful.” One Republican that apparently hadn’t been reached out to, is Danny Tarkanian, running for U.S. Senate against Dean Heller in Nevada. He accepted Shepard Smith’s challenge today on social media. He tweeted: Hey @ShepNewsTeam bookers didn’t contact me...
