On Saturday, New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital decided to close the Samaritan’s Purse emergency hospital constructed to help coronavirus patients in New York’s historic Central Park. Sources said the decision came in part due to outrage at Samaritan’s Purse’s Christian beliefs about marriage and sexuality. The decision came one day after New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson demonized Samaritan’s Purse and its president, Franklin Graham, of “hate” against the LGBT community.

Two Florida doctors have been arrested for stealing their neighbor's "Trump 2020" flag on April 7 after video footage caught them in the act. Geoffrey Michael Fraiche and Laura Ann Webb-Fraiche of Gulf Breeze, Florida, were charged with criminal mischief, trespassing, larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to WKRG-TV. The flag belonged to 67-year-old David Brannen, South Santa Rosa News reported. Brannen said the couple's actions cost him about $500 in damage to the flag pole and $200 for the flag. A Catholic church in San Francisco was defaced with spray-painted graffiti depictions of swastikas overnight, police said Sunday. A Most Holy Redeemer Church employee reported the incident at about 6:30 a.m. at 100 Diamond St., Lt. Neville Gittens said. The employee told police that when he left the night before, the church had not been defaced, Gittens said. Police are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime.
