For Americans, the crux of gun control laws has been how to disarm dangerous individuals without disarming the public at large. Ever-present in this quest is the question of how the perception of danger should impact guaranteed freedoms protected within the Bill of Rights. Not only is such a balancing act difficult as-is, but there are also two additional factors that make it even more challenging: America’s federal government is constitutionally bound by the Second Amendment, and politicians notoriously take advantage of tragedies to pass irrational laws when emotions are at their highest. As President Obama’s former Chief of Staff,...

Although the outcome of the presidential election has yet to be certified – and with recounts, lawsuits, and investigations ongoing – gun control advocates are wasting no time cozying up to Joe Biden, and demanding his “executive action” to restrict access to firearms. A recent article in Michael Bloomberg’s gun control propaganda arm, The Trace, detailed what it called “7 Ways Biden Could Go It Alone on Gun Violence Prevention.” The article noted that the would-be president’s own website states, “Joe Biden ... knows how to make progress on reducing gun violence using executive action.” “Executive action” in this...

With Republicans already in control of 50 Senate seats for at least the next two years, the GOP needs to win just one of those two Georgia Senate seats to hold a slim majority. If Democrats win both and force the 50-50 split, the vice president would cast a 101st vote to break a tie in the Senate..."Democrats have not been shy about what they'll do if Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi run Congress, so it's imperative every freedom-loving American go all in for Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler so they're victorious."

American gun owners could face tens of billions of dollars in new taxes to keep the guns they already own under Democrat Joe Biden's gun ban and tax plan. At least 20 million rifles and 150 million ammunition magazines would be caught up in the sales ban and registration scheme Biden touted on the campaign trail, according to a National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) report. The new taxes would cost Americans more than $34 billion, according to a Washington Free Beacon analysis. NSSF told the Washington Free Beacon the sheer number of affected guns and magazines could pose a significant...

    • GOP support for stricter gun laws has fallen 14 points since 2019 to new 22% low • 25% of Americans favor a handgun ban in the U.S., near record lowWASHINGTON, D.C. -- In the absence of a high-profile mass shooting in the U.S. in 2020 and amid the coronavirus pandemic, civil unrest related to racial justice issues and the contentious presidential election campaign, Americans are less likely than they have been since 2016 to call for increased gun control. The latest majority (57%) in the U.S. who call for stricter laws covering the sale of firearms marks a seven-percentage-point...

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Although the 2021 session of the Texas Legislature convenes on January 12, gun control advocates financed by New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg and Beto “Hell Yeah, I'll Take Your Guns” O'Rourke wasted no time in announcing their declaration of war on your Second Amendment rights in the Lone Star State. Monday was the first day for the pre-filing of bills, and more than three dozen measures attacking your rights have already been introduced!

The elections are far from over and Biden’s victory is nothing more than a unilateral declaration. This is true except for the ATF which is secretly transitioning itself to be in a position to restrict gun ownership under the Biden administration. ATF’s Acting Director Regina Lombardo disclosed during a conference call on November 10, 2020, that Biden’s transition team reached out to discuss ATF’s top priorities. An insider disclosed that 80% lower receivers and pistol braces would be her priority. Biden has expressed disdain for the two items which are crucial for millions of gun-owning Americans who are concerned about...

In the 2020 general election in Montana, the referendum on firearms preemption, LR-130, passed with 51% of the vote, 296,820 to 285,942. It was close. Montana went for President Trump with 57% of the vote. On LR-130, Bloomberg and surrogates outspent Second Amendment supporters $1,409,439.11 to $50,493.06, or 28 to 1. The massive spending wasn't enough to keep the referendum from passing. Montana voters have patched “loopholes” in the law which allowed local jurisdictions to pass ordinances infringing on the right to keep and bear arms.Screenshot from electionresults.mt.gov, cropped and scaled by Dean Weingarten. Senate candidate Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is campaigning on a ban on the sale of semi-automatic rifles and “high capacity” magazines. On his campaign website Ossoff says, “I support a ban on the sale of semi-automatic rifles (“assault weapons”) and high-capacity magazines to the general public.” A ban on semi-automatic rifles, which he referred to as “assault weapons,” would be a ban on AR-15s, AK-47s, and variants of both platforms, together with numerous other commonly-owned semi-automatic rifles, which happen to be some of the most popular firearms in America.

A common fundraiser in Schuylkill County is a gun raffle, many of which have been held online. They are legal in the Commonwealth provided certain rules and stipulations are met. Every schoolchild knows that the Declaration of Independence declares that the basic equality of man is “self-evident.” The United States Constitution enumerates what the inalienable rights only alluded to by the Declaration. An inalienable right is one that exists regardless of whether or not it is recognized by the state. For example, you have a right to free speech regardless of whether or not the Constitution recognizes it. Thus any restrictions on free speech are curbs of this pre-existing right, not an actual elimination of that right. One of them is the right to keep and bear arms. Another is...

Former Vice President Joe Biden doubled down on his calls to ban “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines and to institute other gun controls on the final Sunday of his 2020 presidential campaign. Biden’s campaign wrote on his officialvTwitter account: “As president, I’ll ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, implement universal background checks, and enact other common-sense reforms to end our gun violence epidemic.” Breitbart News reported that Biden’s proposals not only contain a ban on the future manufacture of AR-15s and other firearms the Democrats label “assault weapons” but also a provision that could require every AR-15 rifle to...

Ninth Circuit District Judge Delivers Another Superbly Written Court Order, iStock-1055138108 On 23 September 2020, Judge Roger T. Benitez issued another impressive order in a case involving the Second Amendment. A number of California residents, firearm businesses, special interest groups, foundations, and a political action committee have organized to sue California AG Xavier Becerra et al, to challenge the constitutionality of California's complex net of regulations for the ownership and use of various firearms the state deems to be “assault weapons”. The lawsuit has been winding its way through the federal legal system in the Ninth Circuit. In Miller v....

Judge Amy Coney Barret is the latest example. She is likely to make a critical difference for the Second Amendment on the Supreme Court. That will come to a halt if the Republicans lose control of the Senate, starting with Arizona. Friday, a federal district court judge allowed a lawsuit brought by 21 businesses against the city of Seattle to proceed, despite the city's attempt to have it dismissed. The lawsuit accuses the city of harming local business owners by allowing the existence of Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP), a self-declared autonomous zone that was established and occupied by racial justice protestors from June 8 to July 1. The occupied zone blocked all car traffic, reducing the businesses' access to customers, vendors and revenue, the lawsuit says. The lawsuit further alleges that city police largely neglected the zone, allowing protesters and...

From your lips to God's ear, Dick, that Barrett brings some rationality to the system I mean I could write some gun control. It wouldn't be "Shall not be infringed" like it should be, but it would be a great evolutionary leap in that direction. As the enemy likes to point out "Heller said the right isn't absolute!" Well it is a lot closer to that than the current nonsensical 'common sense' gun right violating regulatory regime allows. - First, ditch are state laws with Federal preemption and the Supremacy Clause. We are talking about a right under the 2nd...
