Cincinnati Gun Buyback Program Puts Guns Back In Right Hands
U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The Grand Rapids Michigan Police Department has announced they will be running two gun turn-in events in Grand Rapids, two weeks apart.
The police department said it will be holding two buyback events where people can get rid of firearms in exchange for a prepaid gift card with no questions asked.
The first will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1534 Kalamazoo Ave. SE. Then on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Genesis Non-Profit Housing Corporation.
Participants are asked to bring their weapons unloaded and stored in the trunk of a vehicle.
Gun turn-in events have become rare in states where private sales are legal. Private buyers advertise at the events and ruin the propaganda value for those who want the population disarmed.Sign at Milwaukee Gun Turn in May, 2014 Courtesy Dean Weingarten
The gun turn-in events scheduled for Grand Rapids is likely to bring in a few guns and to run out of gift cards very quickly. An event in Phoenix, Arizona, with over $200,000 budget ran out of gift cards after collecting over 2,000 guns.
The Grand Rapids turn-in events have split the funds between two events. Either the cards will run out at the first one, or funds will be kept in reserve. In both cases, private buyers can benefit. When the cards run out, people who brought guns to turn in will be open to any reasonable offers. Grand Rapids has a budget of $15,000 total, to be used for gift cards to exchange

I have obtained a couple of decent guns at these sort of events.
Its NOT a buy back! Its a left wing robbery. If you never owned the weapon, you cant buy it back. its a scam.
I have a couple old, cheap, rusty Saturday night specials I inherited. I wouldnt dare fire either one. Rather than pitching them, Im waiting for a local buyback to dump them.
You will be very lucky to have one happen near you.
After the “Buy Back” How many high value, rare and collectable guns disappear from the inventory before these guns make it to the shredder?
One of my kids lives near there. I just sent him details and told him to look out for bolt action .22’s. I need a bunch of them.
Dean Weingarten, the author of this article wrote about my gun “buyback” experience in Baltimore last year.
These morons were offering staggering amounts for guns and most of what was turned in was properly labeled junk.
I had a junk Saturday night special that had a cracked frame. I bought it for $110 new and sold it to the city of Baltimore for $200.
I also had a single shot 16 gauge shotgun that I bought at a garage sale for $35. Got $100 for it.
I used the money to buy ammo
These cheap gun opportunities are becoming more and more difficult to find and utilize.
From December 2018, Inexpensive Good Guns to Replace guns Turned in
I wish one of those “buy backs” would be held around here! I’ve got some REAL JUNK guns hanging on my wall, and I do mean junk. I would be afraid to pull the trigger on any of them!
But they do look good on my wall.
Good decorations are expensive.
I use the junk guns on my wall as burglar bait. No takers yet.
Good memory.
I seriously doubt any decent guns go the shredder. I'll bet the cops have some pretty nice collections.
I have a gun cabinet like that...
