A common fundraiser in Schuylkill County is a gun raffle, many of which have been held online. They are legal in the Commonwealth provided certain rules and stipulations are met.

Despite this, PayPal, according to the email received and posted by the SPCA attributed to “Brian” with their Executive Escalations office, took the money anyways, citing violations of PayPal’s “Acceptable Use Policy,” and claiming them as “damages” done to the company.

“We believe PayPal acted in good faith and in accordance with the User Agreement when denying you access to our services and debiting you Account Balance as reasonable measures to recover damages in accordance with our AUP,” Brian wrote to the SPCA.

Thanks for posting. I will be canceling my PayPal account immediately. Disgusting behavior on their part.

I have a degree in finance. I’ve been in banking since 1980. I use and support all manner of modern banking and internet apps. Yet I’ve never understood how anyone or why anyone would use PayPal.

So a legal fundraiser involving an item rights to ownership of which is guaranteed in the Constitution, violates their AUP? Which allows them to confiscate the money?

Seems actionable.

I’ve been in banking since 1980. . . . I’ve never understood how anyone or why anyone would use PayPal.

I've also been in banking since 1980, the first 25 as a state examiner. Most companies have payment capability on their website. My bank offers internet banking free. I see no reason to use PayPal either.

Years ago, when I was a 10 year top seller on ebay, pay pal froze my account for absolutely no reason.

I had sold a very pricey keyboard, the buyer was delighted with it, and it was shipped promptly.

However, Pay Pal decided that the amount of money changing hands was more than I got for my usual bric-a-brac, so they froze my account.

I had to go through some crazy hoops to get my money.

I left ebay and paypal and NEVER regretted it.

I own a thriving small business for 40 years now and have NEVER Accepted ANY kind of Electronic Payment of any kind and absolutely refuse to ever give a Banker a cut of ANY Transaction. Fortunately my business caters to a certain type of people that don’t rely or need credit cards and I don’t mind waiting for them to mail a check.

Communist bastards are full brazen now...

Just imagine what it will be like a few months from now if this communist coup is successful...

The communist plan is well-developed and ready for immediate implementation...

If the communist coup succeeds (which is increasingly likely), Biden will be found incompetent (by the communists themselves) within the first week after inauguration and Harris will be sworn in (most likely on her knees)...

Pelousy will ascend to VP and the purge will start...

Based on communist history, a reasonable extrapolation (if they win the election) would be a strategy that has been used throughout their history... (Only the names are changed):

Step #1: Get JB elected by any means necessary;

Step #2: Two days after inauguration remove him for dementia;

Step #3: Swear V.P. or pelousy into office;

Step #4: Shut down all wall construction, open the boarders, and grant amnesty to 40-million illegal migrants;

Step #5: Appoint obunghole & 3 or 4 others to the expanded SCOTUS who would quickly rule the entire Constitution unconstitutional;

Step #6: Ban all sales of guns & ammo;

Step #7: Buy back or confiscate all guns and ammo;

Step #8: Indict, try, convict, and lock Trump family up in Guantanamo, Thailand, Libya, or mental institutions;

Step #9: Start the most complete communist purge in history (AOC already announced plans for the burning/ovens...);

Step #10: Remove time limit on holding office of President;

Step #11: Ban all travel across state lines without proper papers;

Step #12: Celebrate about one thousand years of peace & prosperity (For the apparatchiks...)

My experience with PayPal caused me to decline to do business with any seller on line that uses paypal, even if I have a choice to pay another way. I bought an item on EBay and declined PayPal. I paid for it with my credit card. Pay Pal came at me 3 months later claiming i had not paid for my purchase. They had put me on PayPal Credit which I had declined and demanded I begin paying it off. We are talking about less than $100. I got calls twice daily demanding that I pay. I finally sent them a check to shut them up. PP returned my check and said that I was required to pay them in defined monthly installments by certified check. I told them to go to hell an let it go to collections. It still sits with a collection agency. I have paid for that thing I bought twice, once to Eay and again to PayPal though PP refused it. It is in a collection agency now. It has not affected my credit at all.My credit score is still "Excellent."
PP must have spent more than they wanted to get from me with all the letters and phone time. Most of the phone calls I just lay the phone (land line) face down and let them talk to the table top. Now I get calls from both PP and the collection agency. They sent it to the Collection agency but still demand I make the monthly payments.
