• 25% of Americans favor a handgun ban in the U.S., near record low
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In the absence of a high-profile mass shooting in the U.S. in 2020 and amid the coronavirus pandemic, civil unrest related to racial justice issues and the contentious presidential election campaign, Americans are less likely than they have been since 2016 to call for increased gun control. The latest majority (57%) in the U.S. who call for stricter laws covering the sale of firearms marks a seven-percentage-point decline since last year. At the same time, 34% of U.S. adults prefer that gun laws be kept as they are now, while 9% would like them to be less strict.
Gallup has been tracking the public's views on this measure since 1990, when a record-high 78% of Americans supported stricter laws for gun sales as the nation's crime rate was rising. A majority of Americans held that position until 2008. Support then fell to a low of 43% in 2011, when an equal number said gun laws should be kept as is, but calls for stricter laws increased sharply to 58% in 2012 after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

Between the China Virus and the “mostly peaceful” rioting in the streets, there are new gun owners all over the country.

While a case could be made of the legal USE of a firearm, in regards to purchasing, owning, keeping, and carrying... There can BE no Constitutional laws at the Federal, State, or local level.
Any Judge that has upheld these illegal laws should be impeached as they have done so in complete contravention to the Constitutions clear and explicit prohibition on such laws.
Any legislator attempting to enact or pass such laws is also in violation of USC Title 18 Section 242. As is any Executive, Governor or President, that signs it into "law". Same for any law enforcement official attempting to arrest or detain someone using said "law" as grounds for authority.
We are DEEP down the rabbit hole on this one. Way past due time to rectify things. Especially with Antifa and the Socialist Dems running amok in our communities.

Well, the left shot themselves in the foot (pun intended) by supporting the “peaceful protests” and other left wing violence and destruction.
People are now predisposed to protect themselves since they know the left, and a possible Harris/Biden andministration will work to weaken police and take guns.
They’ll never stop wanting to get rid of guns, but hopefully they won’t make it their main issue for the near future.
I also hope all the new first-time gun owners actually learn to appreciate their firearms so they can instill a respect for the Second Amendment in their kids. Help to offset the relentless anti-gun conditioning a little bit.
At the small gun shop I work in there are a LOT of first time buyers in their 40s and 50s and even 60s.
No voter retribution for Commiecrats to worry about. All they have to do is make up their own votes and tell cable TV what to report.

Not really, I wear my Trump 2020 KAG hat often and most don’t bat an eye.
At the ranges where I go, there are a lot of new firearms owners in classes, trying to come up to speed. The lack of ammunition is hindering them quite a bit.
Many of the new gun owners appear to be Leftists, judging by the "flair" they are wearing or what is pasted on their cars. I know, that is very superficial, but the range environment precludes any detailed conversations with total strangers. I would not get too cocky about all the new shooters coming on stream. Some of them will not be friends.
The class attendees appear mostly to be in their 30's and 40's. The regular shooters appear to be in their 50's to 70's. I still see a guy in a wheelchair who shows up now and then.
There are many "boyfriend-girlfriend" combinations who are not part of a class. I would not attempt to instruct a girlfriend or spouse, but these pairs seem to be enthusiastic and improve considerably by the end of their sessions.
I learn something new every day.

The last gunshop owner i talked to in 2019 said most of his new buyers were obvious leftist, aside from a few kids coming of age. Our conversation started after i was asked by an extreme leftist, to share weapons knowledge. It made me suspicious in 2016. He was right, now we have the armed nfa coalition. They are not like you or I.
