DETROIT, MI, June 10, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Whenever the American people try to curtail abortion or maintain marriage laws, the followers of Satan will be there to fight back, promises the national spokesman for the Satanic Temple. “Lucien Greaves†told Detroit's Metro Times that he would like to help women avoid complying with pro-life laws by saying abortion restrictions violate their Satanic religious beliefs. He added that gay “marriage†is a Satanic “sacrament.†He said Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican from the party's moderate business wing, “has been trying to make it untenable for women to terminate a pregnancy.â€...

Sex education – including same sex relationships – is on the curriculum for Chicago public school students this year, and a leading Illinois conservative group thinks it’s only the beginning of practice that could become a new national norm. And even though it’s radically different from the current sex ed programs, that begin in fifth or sixth grades, it’s a norm President Obama has backed since his days in the Illinois legislature. kindergartenclassAccording to CNS News, the new Chicago curriculum has been booted around in Springfield since at least 2003, when Obama was a state senator working with Planned Parenthood...

Complete Title:California Bill Would Ban Psychotherapy Aimed at Changing Under-18-Year-Olds’ Same-Sex “Desires, Attraction, or Conduct” The bill is SB 1172, and it bans “psychotherapy” of under-18-year-olds “aimed at altering the sexual or romantic desires, attractions, or conduct of a person toward people of the same sex so that the desire, attraction, or conduct is eliminated or reduced or might instead be directed toward people of a different sex.” This so regardless of whether the patient or the patient’s parents want the therapy to take place. The bill also regulates such psychotherapy for adults, but the outright prohibition applies only to...

The thick-muscled man with close-cropped hair who called himself Rick Duncan seemed right out of central casting as a prop for a Democratic candidate running against Bush administration policies last fall. A former Marine Corps captain who suffered brain trauma from a roadside bomb in Iraq and was at the Pentagon during the Sept. 11 attacks. An advocate for veterans rights who opposed the war. An Annapolis graduate who was proudly gay. With his gold-plated credentials, he commanded the respect and attention of not just politicians, but also police chiefs, reporters and veterans advocates for the better part of two...

Because of the Boy Scouts of America's policy prohibiting gays from becoming leaders, I vowed as an idealistic new parent a decade ago to never let my children participate in the organization. The discrimination went against all that I planned to teach my sons about equality and social justice. I am now the mom of three scouts and the wife of a den leader. Months after my oldest son transformed into a sullen pre-teenager not interested in soccer and baseball or anything else, he heard some kids talking about camping out with the scouts on a real battleship. He enthusiastically...

SANTA FE — "Technically alive" was the best supporters could say about the future of a domestic partnerships bill Monday after a possibly fatal 5-5 vote in a Senate committee. The tie vote left Senate Bill 12 stalled — perhaps permanently — in the Senate Judiciary Committee as one Democrat sided with Republican opponents and another Democrat left the committee room before the vote was taken. Though supporters of the measure described Monday's vote as a setback, Gov. Bill Richardson, who supports the idea of domestic partnerships, might seek to exert his influence in an attempt to move the bill...

For nearly two years, the South Florida middle school art teacher forced the boy to have sex in a classroom supply closet. Sometimes, Aaron Mohanlal would call in sick to work, take the boy to his home for sex and drop the seventh-grader back off at school at the end of the day. To keep the abuse secret, Mohanlal bought the 13-year-old a cell phone and created nicknames for their genitalia. When police arrested him, the teacher was caught on hidden video trying to destroy letters threatening the boy if he ever told. Last summer, a Broward County jury convicted...

Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) has used $23,000 in campaign funds to pay the top Washington ethics lawyer, Stan Brand, who is fighting his case before the Senate ethics committee, according to Craig’s latest filing with the Federal Election Commission. No additional legal expenses appear in the report, but they eventually will. Craig, according to his office, has decided to use his campaign committee for attorney fees related to his criminal defense in Minnesota as well. “A better read (of the latest report) is that Stan Brand bills more quickly,” Craig’s spokesman, Dan Whiting, wrote in an email. The report covers...

Colorado’s Democratic Governor, Bill Ritter signed into law a bill legalizing homosexual adoption. Ritter defended the idea of allowing homosexual couples to adopt, asserting that the law would “strengthen families and provide children with as stable an environment as possible.” “As we all know, homosexuals are disadvantaged when it comes to having children,” Ritter said. “Reproduction-wise, anal sex is a ‘dead-end,’ so to speak. That leaves gay couples without heirs to their lifestyle and cultural values. This legislation fixes that by allowing these couples to adopt children produced by others engaging in normal sexual relations.” Ritter warned that without measures...

Two Georgia men survived a gruesome suicide attempt Friday after cutting their own arms off with a saw, reported Atlanta's Journal Constitution. The 40 and 41-year-old men managed to remove three of their four arms, cutting them about six inches about their wrists, Atlanta Police Major Lane Hagin told the Journal. The men left a suicide note with the manager of their apartment building saying they were killing themselves because they were recently diagnosed with HIV and their business had failed, according to police. GLAAD Urges Caution in Reporting on Language in New York Marriage Decision NEW YORK - July 6 - The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today urged media outlets reporting on the New York Court of Appeals' decision in Hernandez v. Robles, Samuels v. New York, and the state's other marriage cases to avoid uncritical reiteration of the plurality opinion's repeated use of the phrase "sexual preference" -- an inaccurate term for sexual orientation that violates Associated Press style guidelines. The AP Stylebook's entry for gay reads: "Used to describe men and women attracted to the same sex,...

Sharon HughesThe Center for Changing WorldviewsPosted March 8, 2004 The Gay CultureIn Their Own WordsWhen we look at the changing worldviews around us there’s nothing like direct quotes to bring out the reality of the mentalities that exist around an issue to validate things as they really are or were. VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - AIDS activists, health officials and even some quarters of the Catholic Church criticized the Vatican on Tuesday for defending its opposition to condoms. Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragan said in a message to mark World Aids Day on Monday that fidelity, chastity and abstinence were the best ways to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS. "It's very disappointing because the Catholic Church's irrational stance on condoms undermines the very good work that the Catholic Church does with regards to caring for people with HIV...," said Nathan Geffen in South Africa. Geffen, national manager of Treatment Action Campaign, South...

December 1, 2003, 7:38 PM EST SALT LAKE CITY -- A lawyer for a Utah man with five wives argued Monday that his polygamy convictions should be thrown out following a Supreme Court decision decriminalizing gay sex. The nation's high court in June struck down a Texas sodomy law, ruling that what gay men and women do in the privacy of their homes is no business of government. It's no different for polygamists, argued Tom Green's attorney, John Bucher, to the Utah Supreme Court.
