In a bizarre video retweeted Tuesday by President Donald Trump, a sinister-looking Randy Quaid is seen in a closeup with flashing lights illuminating his bearded face as he intones, “Fox News daytime ratings have completely collapsed.” Did the actor, who posted his proclamation nearly two weeks ago, know what he was talking about? Fox’s daytime viewership dropped 32 percent from the two weeks prior to Election Day to the two weeks after, the Nielsen company said. President Donald Trump, angry at what used to be his most prominent champions in conservative media, is sending his followers to Newsmax, the conservative website and cable channel based in Palm Beach County. Newsmax is relishing the attention from the president — and the surge in interest. Christopher Ruddy, the Boca Raton company’s CEO, a longtime friend of Trump’s and reportedly a member of the Trump-owned Mar-a-Lago Club, appeared on one of the channel’s programs on Thursday to describe a conversation in which the president praised his network and trashed his former favorite, Fox News. Ruddy quoted the president as...

President Trump's fans who don't think Fox News is right-wing enough have another option on cable and satellite: Newsmax TV. And something dramatic has happened in the past week: A big audience has sought out Newsmax TV for the first time. Those two facts are connected. Some Trump loyalists are raging against Fox and changing the channel to Newsmax instead. On Newsmax, voter fraud innuendo is everywhere. Conspiracy theory chatter is constant. And perhaps most importantly, Joe Biden is not the president-elect. The channel is tapping into a real vein of rage on the right. And Trump is encouraging it...

Class A shares of Fox News parent-company Fox Corp. dropped as much as 6% on Thursday as President Donald Trump retweeted support for its rival right-leaning news networks Newsmax and OANN. Some of Trump's Thursday retweets include: "#FoxNews is dead," "Fox has been completely unfair and untruthful. Moving to Newsmax," and "Newsmax and Oann are great alternatives [to Fox News]." Those retweets were then followed up by a direct message from Trump, who tweeted, ".@FoxNews daytime ratings have completely collapsed. Weekend daytime even WORSE. Very sad to watch this happen, but they forgot what made them successful, what got them...

-snip- On Saturday, MSNBC’s coverage of speeches by President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris outperformed ratings juggernaut Fox News. The Democratic election winners drew a record-breaking 9 million average total viewers. In the key 25-to-54 demo, those speeches brought in an average of 2.5 million. The speeches were the highest-rated program in MSNBC’s history. MSNBC’s special coverage on Saturday, when Biden and Harris were officially declared the winners by all the major news outlets, also topped Fox News every hour from 8 a.m. ET to 3 a.m. ET in both total average viewers and viewers in that key...

The Fox News Channel crashed in ratings on Saturday, coming in a distant third place to leader CNN and second place MSNBC. In the week before TuesdayÂ’s election Fox News averaged more than double the viewership of CNN and MSNBC. The FOX News Channel hit rock bottom when they defended and ignored the massive fraud in this yearÂ’s 2020 election. Two days ago Bret Baier deleted the tweet that exposed the exploding on-going backlash against Fox. Many of their hosts were openly hostile to their conservative audience. And several FOX News hosts absolutely HATE President Trump and his supporters. The...

According to Sensor Tower, Newsmax’s rank among free apps in Apple’s App Store climbed from No. 1,061 on Election Day to No. 8 on Saturday. On Saturday, when major decision desks were calling the 2020 election for Joe Biden, Fox News joined them. For much of the day, the conservative news outlet was splashed with chyrons about Biden’s victory as its correspondents covered the historic moment in earnest. Over at Newsmax, meanwhile, readers could find stories about how the “mainstream media” called it for Biden, but that Newsmax itself had not. Lines were drawn in the sand, and for Newsmax...

Fox News viewers appear to be deserting the network in droves as they tune into Newsmax TV. Nielsen data confirms the trend in the post-election period last week. During Wednesday through Friday last week, Newsmax TV led Fox Business and CNBC in all key day parts. Newsmax is also seeing a terrific surge across its media properties, starting with its cable and satellite news channel. OTT viewership of the channel is also up on devices like Roku, YouTube, and Xumo. The company also saw over a half million downloads to the free Newsmax TV APP, and earlier Tuesday hit the...
