JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville City Councilman Rory Diamond called on his colleagues to “swiftly” remove a city government appointee, Leofric Thomas Jr., from the Public Service Grants Council after he appeared to justify the assassination of Charlie Kirk. “Calling on my council colleagues to swiftly remove Leofric Thomas, Jr. as an appointee to our City government,” Diamond said. “Disgusting.” Thomas’ now-deleted post read: “When you spew hate it’s what you get back. Charlie spewed nothing but hate, so what he got back, was….. yeah,” adding a shrug emoji.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people died early Wednesday morning when a gray BMW lost control on University Boulevard South and slammed into a Firehouse Subs building before catching fire, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said. Police said around 1:20 a.m. the BMW was headed north near Terry Road and the driver, who was speeding, lost control at the curve, sending the car careening into the Firehouse Subs building.

SANFORD, Fla. - Two Florida men were arrested after a dispute with two teenage boys over speeding in the Sanford neighborhood of Lake Forest. The incident happened Tuesday evening. A teen boy told deputies he was inside the gated community – as a guest – visiting a friend when the suspects became aggressive and attacked him and a teen passenger while he was driving a white Mercedes.
