When I first joined Free Republic, the single most useful tool to me in becoming familiar with the forum and finding stuff that was helpful was the home page feature. It was nice to wander the FR neighborhood and see what others had bookmarked and learn a little about these people called FReepers. Back then, the pages were somewhat limited if you used the bookmark feature, but still, there were many unique and some very elaborate pages. I've got a question about the funky little doodad that we use to watch for new replies/freepmails/state page comments. I have the URL for the thingy itself (http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/notify?spoken=no). However, there's another URL that you can use that will not only open the aforementioned URL, but also properly position it on the screen and make it a tiny little box instead of a full-sized page. I've lost that URL. Without it, I have to resize the box myself every time I launch my browser, and it also makes the next new window I open be the same tiny little box after...
