Virginia’s Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones should drop out of the race “immediately,” President Donald Trump said Sunday, days after National Review reported a series of texts in which Jones fantasized about killing former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert.
“It has just come out that the Radical Left Lunatic, Jay Jones, who is running against Jason Miyares, the GREAT Attorney General in Virginia, made SICK and DEMENTED jokes,” Trump said, referring to NR’s report on a 2o22 text exchange between Jones and his former colleague, Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner.
“If they were jokes at all, which were not funny, and that he wrote down and sent around to people, concerning the murdering of a Republican Legislator, his wife, and their children.”
In the texts, Jones described a hypothetical situation in which he had a gun with two bullets and was presented with two dictators and House Speaker Todd Gilbert. He’d shoot Gilbert twice “every time,” he texted Coyner, who in turn rebuked him. Jones also accused Gilbert and his wife of “breeding little fascists” and admitted that he would “piss on the graves” of Virginia Republicans who died before him, among other things.

What is WRONG with these people? I’ve never seen so many sick, demented bastards as in the D party. They are violent antifa and communist through and through.
Remember Biden kept threatening to “take Trump out behind the school gym and beat him up”? An immature then-73 year old guy threatening that? He repeated it two years later in March 2018. He sure set the tone for national discourse.
The definition on “What kinds of behavior are aided & abetted in today’s Democrat Party” continues to widen, especially among those already promoting extreme measures.
Why? Mostly b/c no Party Elders or Big Donors set any limits on who they will support or
assist.
Think of all the hateful, toxic behavior that people like Jasmine Crockett or members of The Squad have gotten away with over the last few years. Few, if any Dems will openly say a fellow Dem is ‘doin it wrong’.
In most cases, what have they got to lose?
It is true that Trump has been shot at by a lot of Democrats, so he has a decent amount of authority to make this demand.
If it were a republican with these text messages the drive by media would have scandalized these text messages immediately all on their own and not waited for a sitting president in order to get the machine rolling.

In a sane world, the D party would be close to being permanently outlawed. They should have been outlawed in 1855.

Honestly, the Democratic Party is in total moral collapse.
Jay Jones was exposed fantasizing about murdering his opponent’s CHILDREN, and Democrats still endorsed him.
They are giving a freaking PASS to someone who wants to kill his rivals' children...
Beyond horrifying.

What you said is incredibly revealing. You didn’t say, “Jay Jones texted me about Gilbert, and he never said anything violent.” That would have been a straightforward defense.
Instead, you said he’s “also” texted you about “frustrations.” You used the language of ordinary annoyance to describe a man wishing death on someone’s children. That’s not defending Jay’s character... that’s minimization.
By calling it “bombast,” you turned deliberate cruelty into a stylistic excess, as if wishing death on a child were just a matter of tone. That choice of words isn’t accidental. It signals that your own line between political frustration and moral depravity has become negotiable.
So I can only assume you’re not defending truth, you’re defending the moral depravity of your circle.
Take a good look at your own soul and repent.

I would like to believe that Jones’s maniacal statements will ultimately hurt Dems’ chances but only if voters know the difference between good and evil.
