A “Climate Modifier” bonus for top executives is among the tactics being used to advance the Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals, the bank revealed Monday, announcing the publication of its 2022 Climate Report and ESG Performance Report. “These reports reflect the importance that RBC places on identifying, understanding and responding to the ESG topics that matter most to our stakeholders and our business,” RBC explains in its press release. RBC goes on to tout its efforts to use its power as a financial institution to solve the world’s problems: “They also reflect our belief...

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., the chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, announced Friday he will block a key Department of Interior (DOI) nominee from moving forward over her climate activism. Manchin noted that his decision — which effectively kills President Biden's nomination of Laura Daniel-Davis to serve as DOI's assistant secretary for land and minerals management — came in response to an internal agency memo that was leaked last week. The memo showed that Daniel-Davis, who holds a lower position at DOI, signed off on an explicit decision to prioritize climate policies over energy security. "Today, I...

For at least the last 20 years, politicians in Washington, at the behest of green energy groups, have spent some $100 billion of taxpayer money to fight climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. How is that going for us so far? A recent Associated Press story, based on the latest data on global carbon emissions, provides a pretty accurate report card: "Carbon Dioxide Emissions Reached a Record High in 2022." The article tells us: "Communities around the world emitted more carbon dioxide in 2022 than in any other year on records dating to 1900, a result of air travel...

One of the founders of what would become the Green Party of England and Wales has declared "it's too late" to save the environment. Michael Benfield, who helped set up the new political movement in the 1970s, said he believed the "battle for the world's environmental survival" was "at this moment, lost". "I think we have succeeded in helping to educate... but we have failed in dealing with the battle for environmental survival. The scale of the solutions which he believed were necessary would be simply too unpalatable for any political party to propose, he argues. The focus now, he...

The European Parliament’s environment committee voted on Wednesday (1 March) for a quick phasedown of F-gas refrigerants, in a move that drew criticism from the heat pump industry. ...Yet, not everyone is happy with the direction taken by the European Parliament. Some industries have strongly opposed scaling back F-gases at such speeds, with the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) leading the charge. “This position represents a ban on equipment containing F-gases, in some cases as early as 2026,” EHPA said in a statement, warning that restricting F-gases “risks significantly limiting the number of heat pumps available in certain market segments.”

John Kerry condemned fossil fuels during remarks at the 2023 Our Ocean Conference in Panama. Biden’s so-called Climate Envoy John Kerry traveled all the way to Brazil and Panama this week to lecture on the virtues of making sacrifices to stop climate change. John Kerry said we are facing a climate change crisis because of “how we live” and the choices we make on a daily basis. “That crisis is caused by unabated emissions from fossil fuels that burn so that we can propel our vehicles, heat our homes, light our businesses,” John Kerry said. Warm Up Your Bedroom With...

Bill Weir, CNN's chief climate correspondent, delivered a story to viewers on some scientists' warning that "90% of ice around Antarctica has disappeared in less than a decade." The topic and angle are normal fare for CNN and Don Lemon who hosted the segment, but it's notable that Weir reported on the scientists' warning while in Ushuaia, Argentina near the tip of South America. "For the second year in a row, the south pole is shrinking, the ice down here is shrinking," Weir reported. "It's very worrying because Antarctica is a continent surrounded by oceans, and that sea ice protects...

In 2020, a team of academics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom produced a paper, “Rationing and Climate Change Mitigation,” which argued, as the title suggests, that rationing fuel, food, and even clothes could be an effective way to reduce carbon emissions. The paper was accepted by the journal Ethics, Policy and Environment in January of 2023 and published on Feb. 19. This would seem a pretty extreme proposal, even if it came from the most zealous of adherents to the cult of climate change, but perhaps it’s another nudge in the direction of the Great Reset....

Giant mirrors positioned to reflect sunlight back into space may be needed to meet climate targets, according to a report from the United Nations. Solar radiation modification (SRM), also known as solar geoengineering, is among the proposals from the UN Environment Programme to use radical technology to avoid a climate emergency. “SRM is the only known approach that could be used to cool the Earth within a few years,” the report, compiled by an expert panel of climate scientists, stated. “Climate model simulations consistently show that SRM could offset some of the effects of increasing greenhouse gases on global and...

Al Gore has told the U.N. climate conference that new data suggests the Arctic polar ice cap may disappear in the summertime as soon as five to seven years from now. Clicking through a slide show Monday in a packed side event, the former U.S. vice-president joined the foreign ministers of Norway and Denmark in presenting two new reports on melting Arctic ice. The Arctic Ocean sea ice has shrunk dramatically, to record low levels, the past several summers. Scientists blame global warming, which has raised temperatures twice as fast in the far north as elsewhere. Gore said polar scientists...

Certain American and Canadian scientists have officially proposed that the scientific community phase out the musty old terms “male" and "female” from scientific language in order to avoid any appearance of “emphasizing hetero-normative views.” Instead, these “experts” want terms such as “sperm-producing” and “egg-producing” to be employed, as they say they’re more inclusive. They also approved the use of “XY individual” or “XX individual” as tolerable alternatives. Moreover, these ass-hats scientists contend that the terms “man,” “woman,” “father,” and “mother” are “problematic,” as are those such as “primitive,” “advanced,” and “non-native.” Something called the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Language Project...

A National MP who says she is 'yet to see' evidence of man-made climate change will be given a reading list from the deputy leader of the party. The comments were made by National List MP Maureen Pugh, who is based in West Coast-Tasman, and follows a tragic and fatal weather system which has left at least 11 people dead and thousands unable to live in their homes...

Liberal megadonor George Soros spoke in support of using an experimental weather control technology to alleviate global warming during a speech last week in Germany. Soros, who has given millions of dollars to climate change groups through his nonprofit Open Society Foundations, touted a theoretical project to "repair the climate system" by creating white clouds that reflect sunlight away from certain warming areas with the goal of preventing ice sheets in Greenland from melting, Fox News reported. "Our civilization is in danger of collapsing because of the inexorable advance of climate change," Soros said during the speech in Munich. "The...

Two Minnesota Democratic lawmakers are proposing a pair of bills that would significantly impact the state's backyards and neighborhood ice rinks in an effort to combat climate change. State Reps. Jerry Newton and Heather Edelson, members of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, introduced legislation on Monday that would block the sale of common landscaping appliances like lawn mowers and chainsaws as well ice resurfacing machines such as Zambonis, requiring that only electric battery versions be sold in the state starting Jan. 1, 2025. The ban on lawn and garden equipment would include any machine that uses "a spark ignition engine rated...

Lee Waters Deputy Minister for Climate Change announced decision on Tuesday Plans for a third Menai bridge and the Red Route in Flintshire will not go ahead The Welsh government has axed all the country's major road-building projects to put environmental concerns first. The decision was announced on Tuesday by Lee Waters, Deputy Minister for Climate Change, who said all infrastructure projects in future must now 'reduce carbon emissions and support a shift to public transport, walking and cycling'. It follows a year-long review by the Welsh Roads Review Panel which was set up in September 2021 and led by...

The renewable energy fantasy goal is achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Carpet-bombing propaganda has convinced the public to accept the extravagant claim that technology currently exists to reach net zero carbon emissions. Like carnival barkers, the net-zero fanatics say renewable energy is affordable, sustainable, scalable, and not an economy wrecker. The goal is to create a first-generation green power grid relying on wind turbine farms, solar array farms, and power storage battery banks replacing fossil fuel and nuclear power plants. In addition, the new power grid would power a global fleet of electric vehicles that would replace the...

Medical professionals are warning the public about a dangerous fungal infection that is rapidly spreading across the country, particularly in the states of California and Arizona. There has been an increase in reported cases of rare Valley fever, and climate change may be to blame, according to doctors. Valley fever (also called coccidioidomycosis or “cocci”) is a disease caused by a fungus that grows in the soil and dirt in some areas of California and the southwestern United States, according to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). “People and animals can get sick when they breathe in dust that...

The Securities and Exchange Commission is considering a softening of planned rules requiring companies to disclose the effects of extreme weather and other costs related to global warming when the regulator completes its climate-change proposals, people close to the agency said. The Wall Street regulator is looking again at the financial reporting aspect of the climate-disclosure plan it issued last year, following pushback from investors, companies and lawmakers, the people said. The final version of the SEC rules, expected this year, will likely still mandate some climate disclosures in financial statements, according to the people close to the agency. But...

"Scientists are scrambling to explain why the continent of Antarctica has shown Net Zero warming for the last seven decades and almost certainly much longer. The lack of warming over a significant portion of the Earth undermines the unproven hypothesis that the carbon dioxide humans add to the atmosphere is the main determinant of global climate. Under “settled” science requirements, the significant debate over the inconvenient Antarctica data is of necessity being conducted well away from prying eyes in the mainstream media..."
