<p>NATCHITOCHES - A former Natchitoches Central High School teacher stands accused of sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old student.</p> <p>Kristal Pierce, 24, of 717 East Beaufort, Welsh, was arrested Wednesday.</p> <p>City police said Pierce also told the teenager to lie about the incident if asked about it. Natchitoches Police Chief Ralph Peters confirmed Pierce is accused of having sexual relations with a student.</p>

<p>Former teacher Patti Powell believes the Rapides Parish school system is rotten to the core.</p> <p>"Rotten Apples: We've Made Worm's Meat of Education" is her 500-page, self-published attempt to tell her side of the story after the School Board fired her for alleged neglect of duty in September 2001.</p>
