Forero says an exit poll indicates that opposition candidate Edmundo González has defeated Nicolas Maduro 64 to 31 percent

Edmundo González has a 64% to 31% lead over Maduro, says polling by Edison Research obtained by @WSJ. A firm that does exit polling at major American elections, Edison polled 5,464 Venezuelan voters in 100 polling stations. Edison does extensive work overseas.

Most supporters of Nikki Haley in the swing state of North Carolina admitted their vote for was more “against” an opponent rather than “for” their candidate of choice, according to a CNN exit poll. The CNN exit poll asked respondents in the state if their vote for president was mainly “for your candidate” or “against their opponent.” Interestingly, most Haley supporters, 70 percent, said their vote for president was mainly “against their opponent.” Meanwhile, most Trump supporters, 80 percent, said their vote for president was mainly “for your candidate.”

With polls closing across Israel, exit polls published by Channel 12 News show that the Likud party has won 37 Knesset seats while the Blue and White party has won 33 seats. NEW YORK - Warren Mitofsky, a survey researcher who pioneered the use of exit polls to cover elections and helped develop the sampling method used in most modern telephone polling, has died.
