The “Bolivarian Revolution” of Venezuela is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its rise to power. On February 2, 1999 — 25 years ago — I was a naive 11-year-old, devoid of any political thought. Today, just as the socialists celebrate a quarter of a century in power, I am barely starting anew, having been finally able to flee from socialism with my brother, who is under my care due to his mental condition. As they celebrate, cheer, rejoice — I am here, having left everything behind: my home, remaining family, neighbors, and friends, carrying nothing but three pieces of luggage;...

Two "dangerous" inmates being held on murder charges escaped from a Mississippi jail early Friday morning sparking a manhunt. Tyrekennel Collins, 24, and Dezarrious Johnson, 18, broke free from the Claiborne County Detention Center around 2:20 a.m., the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post. Chief Deputy Christy Sykes said Collins and Johnson climbed through a panel in the ceiling in a common area of the jail. They made their way to a window and used bed sheets to drop down to the ground, she said. Jail staff were alerted to the escape immediately by other inmates.

The largest growing criminal organization in the world has infiltrated its way into the United States, said an El Paso FBI agent. The Tren de Aragua, or the “Aragua Train,” gained notoriety after its founding in 2012 by Hector Guerrero, alias “Niño Guerrero” or Warrior Kid, in the state of Aragua located in the north-central region of Venezuela. Operating initially from Tocorón prison in Venezuela, the gang made headlines after 11,000 police officers raided the prison back in September, uncovering a zoo, nightclub, swimming pools, and a children’s playground. What they did not find was any sign of Guerrero, the...

Matthew 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch [and pray] with me. 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing,...

Luke 21:34 “…and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap [snare]; 35 for it will come upon all those who live on the face of all the earth. 36 But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”Escape! This is Jesus Christ’s last message to his larger group of followers, including us. He calls us to have the strength to escape. Escape from what? Escape from the snares drawing the world into judgment....

Special Counsel Robert Hur, who is investigating President Joe Biden for mishandling documents, is not expected to charge anyone, sources familiar with the matter told CNN and the Wall Street Journal. The report suggests a double standard of justice. While there will reportedly be no consequences for Biden, Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted former President Donald Trump in June for mishandling classified documents. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Hur in January to investigate Biden after classified documents from his time as vice president in Barack Obama’s administration were found in his possession at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, DC,...

Egypt, the other country besides Israel that borders Gaza, moved quickly this week to fortify its border and prevent a flood of Palestinians from entering Egyptian territory during Israel’s counteroffensive against Hamas. The Israeli military suggested on Tuesday that Palestinians who do not wish to be used as human shields by the Hamas terrorists should flee across the Egyptian border. Israeli Lieutenant-Colonel Richard Hecht rescinded that advice later on Tuesday. “Clarification: The Rafah crossing was open yesterday, but now it’s closed,” Hecht said. The Rafah crossing was evidently shut down because Israel dropped several bombs near it. The Israeli Defense...

A manhunt is underway in Indiana after a murder suspect was accidentally set free from a jail A massive manhunt is underway in Indiana after detention center employees accidentally released a murder suspect and kept the debacle under wraps for six days for a "tactical advantage" in finding him. He was so desperate to flee you'd have thought Will Smith was there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Just when you thought the world couldn’t possibly get any stranger, the Burning Man festival has been placed on lockdown with nobody allowed to enter or leave after inclement weather turned the entire event in a sludgy pool of knee-deep mud. Of course, celebrities can always find a way to flee, but Chris Rock achieved it in the most unexpected of fashions. In another sentence that sounds ridiculous when you see it, the actor and comedian ended up walking for five miles through the goop with...

Just when you think that this story can’t get any worse, somehow it does. It is being reported that the wildfires that we just witnessed in Maui were the deadliest wildfires in the entire history of the United States, and according to Moody’s Analytics they caused somewhere between four and six billion dollars in economic damage. But if authorities had responded more competently, the outcome could have been much different. In fact, the fire that ultimately completely destroyed Lahaina could have been controlled if fire crews had not “left the scene even though the fire was still burning”… Maui locals...

As more details emerge about what really happened in Maui, one thing is unmistakable: the government has completely surrendered its delegated charge as the guarantor of unalienable rights, and in its current form, it is wholly unsuited to have any sort of authoritative role. A report out yesterday at The Hill detailed that Maui residents fleeing the blaze were barricaded in by several road closures, established by local authorities; those who heeded the orders died, and those who didn’t, escaped the flames. From the article:Those who disobeyed the barricaded road closures during the Maui fires survived the disaster, while many...

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that residents of Lahaina in Maui were prevented from escaped the horrific wildfire by barricades that were put up after electric polls were downed. The report contains shocking details revealing that people were turned back by a crew as they attempted to flee, with several being burned alive in their cars or in the middle of the street as a result. The report notes that some disobeyed the order and drove around the barricades, enabling them to escape and survive: One family swerved around the barricade and was safe in a nearby town 48 minutes...

Trust the experts they say.The government has your best interests at heart.Don’t think for yourself, we keep being told.Yeah, well, the AP says what those of us who have been following the Lahaina wildfire already knew: the people who obeyed the authorities died, and those who said “Screw that!” survived.https://t.co/ydyZUqV9gl— Dr. Benjamin Braddock (@GraduatedBen) August 23, 2023This story confirms what I have been writing for a few days. Not because I am a particularly astute journalist–everything I have reported has been publicly available, either through various news stories, blog posts, or videos on Twitter.I just have no faith left in...

Former NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell stepped down amid a steady stream of New York’s Finest beating her to the exits, according to troubling new data obtained by The Post. Through June 30, 648 officers quit before retiring this year — a 22% spike from 2021, when 530 left, and an 87% rise from 2020, when 347 quit, NYPD pension data show. The concerning “voluntary quits” — combined with NYPD recruiting problems leaves the 34,000 uniformed officers “at least 1,200 short,” the police union said. “Cops are being squeezed from every direction. They are working inhumane amounts of forced overtime. The...

A handcuffed suspect managed to free himself from the back of a Colorado police cruiser and steal the vehicle, leading officers on a high-speed chase that only ended when he fatally crashed into a parked semi, dramatic new footage released Wednesday showed. The video showed police stopping Anthony Sanchez III after an initial chase by ramming the back of his car. That spun him around and allowed police to surround his vehicle. He was being chased after nearly hitting other cars on the road, when police stopped him they found a gun in his vehicle. Officers put Sanchez into the...

A fed-up San Francisco resident has decided to leave his crime-ridden, drug-infested neighborhood that he says reminds him of a “zombie apocalypse” — and has launched a fund-raising campaign to pay for his move. Darren Mark Stallcup, 26, an activist living in the Golden City’s Tenderloin neighborhood, is seeking to raise $6,000 to relocate, telling Fox News Digital that he was “witnessing a fentanyl genocide.” “It is with heavy heart that I’m saying goodbye to my apartment in the Tenderloin. I can no longer live in a neighborhood where I’m constantly tripping over bodies, fecal (matter),” and needles,” he said...

When asked about his origin story, John Damon always told his family he was an orphan from Chicago. Which was true, in a way. In 1958, the 16-year-old Omaha boy indeed became an orphan — when he shot his parents to death. And nine years later, after he sawed through prison bars and escaped the Nebraska State Penitentiary, the fugitive did flee to Chicago to launch his new life. But back in those days, Damon was known by a different name: William Leslie Arnold.
