A Scottish monk has been arrested for distributing a series of leaflets in the Cambridgeshire area critical of homosexuality, fornication, contraception, euthanasia, abortion, and divorce. Brother Damon Jonah Kelly, head of the Glasgow based charity the Black Hermits, was arrested by Cambridgeshire Police on December 8 on suspicion of a Section 5 (religious/racial) public order offence after he wrote a letter to the homosexual news publication, Pink News, claiming responsibility for the distribution of leaflets in the city of Ely, as well as in Cambridge, King’s Lynn and several other Cambridgeshire towns and cities. Officials from Duluth Metals Ltd. say the site of a proposed mine near Ely has more metal deposits than it expected, the Associated Press reports. Duluth Metals CEO and Chairman Christopher Dundas called the area a "monster deposit" and said metals there could be worth more than $100 billion. Duluth, a Toronto company that has its U.S. headquarters in St. Paul, plans to invest $2 billion in the mine and create hundreds of jobs through its subsidiary Twin Metals Minnesota LLC. However, mining likely won't kick off for several years.

NORFOLK It was not an everyday sight on the flight line at Norfolk Naval Station's Chambers Field. A spindly little aircraft - essentially a motorized tricycle with wings - emerged from the clouds, touched down and puttered to a stop outside a hangar Tuesday. The 1,000-pound plane is a replica of those flown by Eugene Ely, the first man to take off from and land on a ship in 1910 and 1911 - the birth of naval aviation.
