White House deputy press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the administration will not rule out imposing COVID-19 vaccine requirements for domestic travel as the United States lifted its travel ban on non-essential travel for vaccinated air and land travelers on Monday. When asked about restrictions being lifted for vaccinated travelers into the United States starting Monday and if the administration is considering extending vaccine requirements to domestic travel, Jean-Pierre demurred but did not rule it out. “So, we say this all time … everything’s on the table,” she said, adding: “We just don’t have any announcement to preview right now...

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is pushing back against a report about a potential CCP Virus related domestic travel restriction for Floridians, calling the idea “unconstitutional.” “And I think it’s an absurd report that they would be doing that. I think it would be unconstitutional, it would be unwise and it would be unjust,” DeSantis said at a press conference on Thursday. The Miami Herald reported Wednesday that the Biden administration is considering whether to impose domestic travel restrictions, including on Florida, to stem the spread of the UK variant. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) says it is monitoring the...

"Testing is cheaper and more available than it was months ago, but health bureaucrats need to worry less about 100% accuracy and demand 100% results reporting to the government. $1-$2 paper strips that people could use on their own every day, and link results to an app that showed they’re clear to engage in activities for the day, would make a huge difference."

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that New York, as well as New Jersey and Connecticut, will begin enforcing quarantine orders on travelers from nine other states. Travelers from Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Utah, Texas and Washington will have to self-isolate for two weeks after entering the tri-state area. In late March, Gov. Cuomo criticized President Trump for suggesting a state-based quarantine order that would restrict travel for residents of the tri-state area. When the New York City area was the “epicenter” of the coronavirus pandemic, Trump suggested a two-week quarantine order on residents of...

They were previously allowed to use mere driving licenses. But residents of some US states may soon require additional ID, such as passports, if they wish to embark on air travel - even if just domestically. That's the new procedure on the horizon for people from states that have not yet introduced the standards required by the 2005 Real ID Act, which demands stricter regulations for state-issued IDs. The states that haven't yet fallen into line each now have a grace period of three months to meet the revised criteria. This deadline expires on 22 January 2018.
