<p>Prominent Houston attorney John O'Quinn was one of two men who died this morning when their SUV slammed into a large tree on Allen Parkway after the driver apparently lost control, police said.</p> <p>"I'm stunned. Senate passes English bill By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS TOPEKA (AP) -- Legislation making English the state's official language is more form than substance, according to the chairman of the Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee, which endorsed the bill. Reliance on the appointment of the “right” nominee in the battle over the judiciary is a losing strategy. Quite often the “right” people once appointed for life, become part of the problem.
