The second episode of the History Channel's Bible series is likely to have as many viewers as the first episode, which broke all 2013 records for cable programs with 13.1 million viewers. The second segment covers the "tribes of Israel" returning to the "homeland" under the leadership of Joshua (Yeshua/Jesus). These Israelites were Horites and they were fighting other Horites to gain control of important cities in Canaan. The Horites (Horim in Hebrew) were a caste of ruler-priests who were in charge of the shrines in Canaan. These shrines were in the important cities that the warriors of Joshua attacked....

President Obama says he regularly skeet shoots at Camp David and called on gun-control proponents to “do a little more listening” to gun owners in the national debate over firearms. In an interview with The New Republic posted on Sunday Obama said that he and guests “do skeet shooting all the time” at the presidential retreat and said he understood why many rural voters were protective of their gun-ownership rights. “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there. And I have a profound respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations,”...

This is a story of great men behaving despicably. It’s a fascinating story for several reasons, but one of them is that it's such a modern story. It could be told of men and women today. It’s the story of a hero who achieves fame and power. He finds an attractive woman who just happens to be married to someone else and seduces her. 2 One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, 3 and David sent someone...

David Axelrod, senior adviser for Barack Obama‘s re-election campaign, spoke with New York magazine reporter and frequent Morning Joe panelist John Heilemann at 92Y, telling Heilemann that he had a “big cry” over the passage of President Obama’s health care law. RELATED: Poll: Most Americans Want Health Care Law Declared Unconstitutional “I have a child with a chronic illness,” he shared. “I was one of those people who almost went bankrupt. She was seven months old and she started having seizures. I was making 35, 38 thousand dollars a year and her medications weren’t covered by her insurance and we...

As I wrote yesterday, the media loves being lied to by Barack Obama. As we all know, the furor over a sitting President caught telling 38 falsehoods in his self-penned biography would be unquenchable were we talking about a president with an R after his name. Not to mention the lies Obama told the media about his relationship with Bill Ayers and his membership in the socialist New Party. But as you'll see in the clip below, Obama biographer David Maraniss, who found no less than 38 falsehoods in Obama's bio, is determined to downplay Obama's lying:

Strange Tests Sometimes God's commands make no apparent sense at all; when that is the case, it is because He does not want them to make sense to us. God does not do anything without a reason, and He can always be trusted absolutely to be devising good. Sometimes He just wants us to show that we understand that, so He gives us strange tests. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is rewarder of those who seek him. (HEB 11:6) To Abraham the test...

For the first time, archaeologists have uncovered shrines from the time of the early Biblical kings in the Holy Land, providing the earliest evidence of a cult, they say. Excavation within the remains of the roughly 3,000-year-old fortified city of Khirbet Qeiyafa, located about 19 miles (30 kilometers) southwest of Jerusalem, have revealed three large rooms used as shrines, along with artifacts, including tools, pottery and objects, such as alters associated with worship.

There is only one working example of the 'land for peace' paradigm, and that's Israel's treaty with Egypt. Evelyn Gordon writes that if the Camp David treaty is 'reviewed' (or worse), Israel will never take the risk again. Territorial handovers to the Palestinians under the Oslo Accords in the 1990s, for instance, produced not peace, but a massive increase in terror. In the first two and a half years after Oslo was signed in1993, Palestinians killed more Israelis than in the entire preceding decade, while the first four years of the second intifada (2000-2004) produced more terror-related casualties than the...

Faux-Republican David Frum took a shot at Fox News viewers on Sunday when he told CNN's Howard Kurtz that "people who watch a lot of Fox come away knowing a lot less about important world events." Frum's interview aired during the bottom half of the 11 a.m. hour of Reliable Sources. Even Kurtz, who has worked for the liberal media for three decades, challenged Frum's hard-line criticism of the right-wing media. "You're tarring with an awfully broad brush there" he told Frum, who in a recent New York Magazine column accused the conservative media

On November 19, Glenn Beck spoke at the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s “Restoration Weekend,” where he addressed the current political situation in America, entrepreneurship, Occupy Wall Street, Israel and plenty more. “I think the question — how much trouble are we in — I’ll address. But the bigger question that I would like to address today is — how much trouble is the Left in?,” Beck said at the beginning of his speech. “Because America is waking up. And there’s only going to be one of us standing in the end. And I have every intention of it being us.”...

Days after a jihadist had made violent threats against him, late-night comedian David Letterman tightened security at the Manhattan theater where he tapes his “Late Show.” A source told the New York Post Friday that additional security precautions were taken at the Ed Sullivan Theater after a Muslim extremist called for Letterman's tongue to be cut out on Shumuka al-Islam forum, a popular Internet destination for radical Muslims. "Is there not among you a Sayyid Nosair al-Mairi ... to cut the tongue of this lowly Jew and shut it forever?" a user identified as Umar Al-Basrawi wrote, referring to El...

John Kitzhaber (D) and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) of his resignation, which will be effective as of 11:59 p.m. “Serving as a U.S. Congressman has been the greatest honor of my life. There is no other job where you get up each day and ask, ‘How can I try to make the world a better place today?’" Wu said in the statement. “However great the honor and engaging the work,

In his new book "The Secret Knowledge: On the Dismantling of American Culture." Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet gives a voice to one of America’s most openly oppressed minorities, the entertainment-industry conservative. He frames the discussion of the current culture war with his journey from being a “brain-dead liberal” to being a true believer on the right. Mr. Mamet is part of a growing resistance movement among entertainers, artists and musicians who are bold enough to buck the hard-left Hollywood orthodoxy and think for themselves. A few years ago actor Gary Sinise helped organize an informal salon of centrists and...
