  • Congratulations to Jim Robinson for His Political Sagacity Overwhelmingly Accurate

The maelstrom of political controversy regarding Free Republic founder Jim Robinson and his attitude towards the then Republican presidential candidate front runner and odds-on favorite to win the nomination, as anointed by the msm as the weakest candidate in the Repuplican field, was one punctuated by severe criticism of Mr. Robinson for his uncompromising, vituperative take-no-prisoners stance towards the liberal bent, RINO candidate Mr. Romney,as unacceptable under any circumstances as Republican Party nominee in the 2012 presidential election. While his intensely vociferous stance against Mr. Romney surprised, confused, alienated many, the political rationale for the utter blanket rejection of Mr....

Seriously. FR is running too well. Any random thought that pops into your head really deserves its own thread. I'm sorry that I can only post one at a time, frankly. So have at it. What are you eating for dinner tomorrow? What channel will you watch? What if you see Chris Matthews pick his nose? That will be Breaking News, certainly.

The first reason is easy: Barack Obama. It is shocking to think that a Marxist could ever be president of the United States. But it happened. People always ask, “How could those people have sat back while ________________ came to power. That could never happen here.” Well, it did happen here. As a nation, we sat back and let Barack Obama win in 2008, and look at what we got. Granted, John McCain was not much of an alternative. Some people might argue that the reason I don’t like Barack Obama is because he’s black. There’s no truth it. There...
  • Hey Romney Supporters - 51 Votes in the Senate Overturns Obamacare If It's a Tax

Romney's spokesman has said that Obamacare does not impose a tax. But if that's true then it will take 60 votes to get past a Democratic filibuster in the Senate. On the other hand, if Obamacare does impose a tax, then it will only take 51 votes to overturn Obamacare in the Senate. This is not some obscure fact. So why on God's green earth would Romney's spokesman being seeking to characterize Obamacare as not imposing a tax? Are they trying to make it harder to overturn Obamacare? I'd love to get straightforward answers to those questions from Romney supporters.
  • Birthers, buffoonery and a sad discourse

If you really, really dislike Barack Obama, his long-form birth certificate, finally proffered in exasperation, is quite simply a counterfeit. If you are a fan of the president — or even a respectful critic — you are relieved finally to have rid the country of the plague of “birtherism,” the rabid belief that Obama wasn’t born in this country and isn’t constitutionally qualified to be president. To whichever group one claims membership, one can’t help wondering when exactly we lost our minds. ... Yes, obviously. Trump resurrected the birther cause and breathed new life into it. But it wasn’t only...
