The man whose protest at a Donald Trump rally in Nevada led the Secret Service to rush the GOP nominee offstage said he went to the event "with a simple sign" to "voice my displeasure with the nominee that the party picked." Austin Crites, who said he is a registered Republican, said in an interview today with ABC News' "Good Morning America" that he held up a sign proclaiming "Republicans Against Trump" at the rally in Reno on Saturday. After he raised the sign, "of course there was the booing going on around me," Crites told "GMA." "Then a couple...

Tonight in Reno, it was reported that Donald Trump was rushed off the stage at his rally. Since Trump is disliked so vehemently by some, it was immediately assumed that someone tried to assassinate Trump. Initial reports were that someone rushed the stage, someone else yelled “gun,” there was chaos and tackling, and then someone was arrested. Considering the insanity of this election cycle, who would actually be surprised if something like that were to happen? And given that insanity, it’s entirely reasonable that the Secret Service immediately hustled Trump off the stage until they could get to the bottom...

What happened last night was pre-planned to make Trump look like the bad guy and Trump supporters violent, but it backfired. Here’s why:

"I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response. I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us - we will make America great again!" - Donald J. Trump

Something has interrupted his speech!!! Sudden cut off, people screaming!!

Tampa, FL Tampa, FL at the Florida State Fairgrounds Wlmington, NC Wlmington, NC at the Wilmington International Airport Reno, NV Reno, NV at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center Denver, CO Denver, CO at the National Western Complex

He looked at a disruption in the audience, then was rushed off the Stage by SS

He brought in a "Republican" sign to get in, but see above.

Five to six Trump supporters jumped on the man. It was when he was on the ground, witnesses said, that there were shouts of "he's got a gun" One witness tells me he thinks that a folded up poster or sign that he saw the man holding was misidentified as a weapon, sparking panic. Crites’ Facebook page indicates that he’s a Republican who is voting for Hillary Clinton. Shortly after the incident at the rally, Crites replaced the cover photo with one of an American flag. The original cover photo referred to Nevada Republicans proudly voting for Clinton.
