    The maximum pay rate for staffers will be higher than that of elected officials House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday announced a major pay boost for top House staff members that will allow them to make more money than elected members of Congress. Pelosi, D-Calif., said the new maximum pay rate for staff will be $199,300, up 15% from the current cap of $173,900 annually. The pay boost means that top staffers will be allowed to make more money than their bosses.
