Jared Bridegan, a former Microsoft executive and father of four, was gunned down in Florida last year in front of his infant daughter. The hitman responsible for Bridegan's murder not only pleaded guilty Thursday, but also turned on his alleged co-conspirator. Officials indicated that immediately after the hitman entered his guilty plea, a judge signed the arrest warrant for Mario Fernandez Saldana, the new husband of Bridegan's ex-wife. Saldana was taken into custody around 9:35 a.m. without incident. What's the background? Bridegan, 33, was gunned down on Feb. 16, 2022, in the area of Jacksonville Drive and Sanctuary Boulevard in...

Today, we announced Microsoft 365 Copilot—your copilot for work. Copilot combines the power of large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph—your calendar, emails, chats, documents, meetings, and more—and the Microsoft 365 apps to turn your words into the most powerful productivity tool on the planet. And it does so within our existing commitments to data security and privacy in the enterprise. Right now, we spend too much time on the drudgery of work and too little time and energy on the work that ignites our creativity and sparks joy…. Copilot is integrated into Microsoft 365 in...

  • Why didn't Microsoft get sued for plagiarising Java when they made C#? ( For Techies Only )

A few reasons. First, Java was spearheaded by Sun Technologies, not Oracle. Sun was still an independent company at the time. Sun had already yelled at Microsoft for changing the Java implementation in Internet Explorer to make it faster for Windows machines. It ended up killing Java applets completely. My feelings are they weren’t itching for another fight with the huge software giant. Second, they didn’t copy Java’s API. That’s what Google did with Android, and that’s why Oracle is still suing them. Microsoft borrowed a lot of ideas from Java (and C++) for their new language. If you compare...

One of Silicon Valley’s legacy companies is getting rid of a giant piece of real estate. Intel has put its four-building campus in San Jose on the market, as first reported by The Registry. That’s nearly 500,000 square feet of office space for the Santa Clara-based tech company, which has about 8,700 employees in the Bay Area, according to LinkedIn. There is also more than 50,000 square feet of lab space across the buildings. The 24.6-acre site includes parking for more than 800 cars surrounding 101, 121, 131 and 141 Innovation Drive. The Registry, which analyzed a marketing brochure from...

The end of The Canadian Record’s print edition — even if temporary — is another indication of how perilous the news business is for local publishers and the communities they’re a part of. CANADIAN — Thursday arrived as usual in the Texas Panhandle. But a new edition of The Canadian Record, this gritty town’s definitive source of local news for more than 130 years, did not come with it. The green flag that told the townspeople that there was a new edition of the newspaper, usually 28 pages long and full of the words and photos of their neighbors and...

The day is celebrated by pi enthusiasts and pie lovers alike! #NationalPiDay Pi is the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter. Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., asked during a meeting about the bailout of Silicon Valley Bank whether social media could be censored to prevent misinformation going out that could lead to a bank run, according to reports. Michael Shellenberger, an independent journalist who reports on the Twitter files and has contributed to Fox News reported that Kelly asked the Federal Reserve, Treasury Department and Federal Deposit and Insurance Corp (FDIC) about censorship measures during the meeting on Sunday. Republican House members on the call confirmed with Shellenberger’s publication, Public on Substack, that a Democratic senator asked about censoring social media companies,...

Confession, I am guilty of a horrendous crime. It is deeply shallow, completely discriminatory, and has left me single for far too long. I hang my head in shame as I confess… the crime is swiping left on short kings. These mighty men of short girth usually stand at around 5'7 (give or take) and are ignored by the masses. Seriously, ask any woman what their deal breakers are when it comes to dating, and the answer (after a few wines) would be men under 6ft tall. Now if you were to go looking for a short man in the...

ALL RIPPING IS FOR PERSONALUSE ACCORDING TO LOCAL LAWS> With that proviso said I thought I would share some thoughts about Subtitles for box sets. What a pain in the Butt! First, I am convinced that the industry figures you are handicapped if you deploy subtitles. Maybe because of the various laws, but once deployed subtitles seem to be ON BY DEFAULT and you may have the option to turn them off PER USE, This is opposite of what I want, which is OFF by default and selectable for use like on a DVD Player. So be forewarned; some hard...

Ripping: Video Jitters You rip a video and it is fully of jitters. Every now and then the video pauses. Maybe for just enough to notice, but sometimes for what seems like a long time. What causes video jitters while encoding them? The Number 1 Cause: Overclocking Most of the systems we use today are built on gaming computers. The first core is built to handle the overclocking most folks give it. The subsequent cores can only handle the overclocking for shorter periods of time as the game gets more intense. When the limits are exceeded, either in watts and time...

I’ve noticed the last few days when hitting news/activism or EVERYTHING ELSE which is how I normally browse the threads of the day, it comes up blank and says “your query returned no results”. I’ve tried everything browser related clearing the history, cache and cookies. Even did an update. Then I tried Safari browser on my iPhone and the same issue. I just realized if I sign out the threads appear as normal. As soon as I sign in, the same black screen and error prompt appears.
