Windows 7, I know, that "risky-obsolete-not-up-to-date OS from MS" of 18 years ago. In any case guys, a simple question for you: does any one on FR know which VPN will work with Win 7? I know, I know...I don't want to get into a debate regarding "You really should consider updating to the latest system." At this stage in our lives our choices are: 1) staying with Win 7 or 2) getting completely off the grid. What would be a VPN for Win 7? Many thanks in advance!

Several Meta employees who said they received positive performance ratings in their mid-year reviews last year had their jobs cut Monday, as the company let go of nearly 4,000 workers in its latest round of job reductions. Business Insider spoke to eight terminated employees, who said they received “At or Above Expectations” ratings — the middle tier in Meta’s three-level mid-year review system — in their 2024 assessments. These employees said they were surprised to learn their ratings had been downgraded to “Meets Most,” one of the lower tiers in Meta’s year-end performance system that refers to meeting most, but...

No joke: Wired wants you to believe this is a bad thing. The Young, Inexperienced Engineers Aiding Elon Musk’s Government Takeover Engineers between 19 and 24, most linked to Musk’s companies, are playing a key role as he seizes control of federal infrastructure. WWW.WIRED.COM https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-government-young-engineers/ "Elon Musk's Government Takeover" Gotta love the pea-sized brains over at Wired. Elon Musk's takeover of federal government infrastructure is ongoing, and at the center of things is a coterie of engineers who are barely out of — and in at least one case, purportedly still in — college. Elon isn't taking over anything. He's...

As universities across the U.S. seek to deal with protests, polarization, and the presidential election, many have focused on how to foster civil-discourse skills in students. As this tweet (below) from Professor Robert “Robby” George illustrates, civil-discourse programs are popping up across the nation. Of course, UNC has its own version with its School of Civic Life and Leadership (SCiLL). What Is Civil Discourse? Since this is an essay about AI, I’ll use an AI-generated answer from Google Search for the definition (Google Search AI collects data from websites on a topic, in this case “civil discourse,” and summarizes the...

The more we learn about John Brennan and the other swamp creatures, aka the 50 intelligence agents who signed off on the Hunter Biden laptop letter, the more we understand why and support Trump removing their security clearance. For years, we felt as if we were the crazies talking about the deep state and how they were working to control our elections but now that everything is out in the open, we're finding that perhaps we weren't so crazy after all. Especially when you see leaked emails like this one where Brennan admits everything they were doing was to help...

On Saturday the US Army released the name of the pilot of the US Army Blackhawk helicopter that flew into a passenger jet landing at Reagan National Airport. The crash was on Wednesday. The third pilot’s name, Rebecca Lobach, was finally released on Saturday, three days later. All 64 passengers in the jet were killed. The three pilots in the Blackhawk helicopter also died in the explosive crash. Kristinn Taylor at The Gateway Pundit reported: After withholding at the request of the family the name of the female pilot killed in the mid-air collision Wednesday night between an Army Black...

This video contains excerpts of Sam Altman's 9/15/16 interview with Elon Musk. They were the original Co-Chairs of OpenAI. Here, they openly promote the connection of AI and transhumanism (the merging of the human brain/mind with technology, as is being developed by Musk's Neuralink company). Elon Musk himself said that there's a "ten to twenty percent chance AI goes BAD." We are gambling with the future of every man, woman, and child on earth. At the very least, we should ensure that those who are involved in the Stargate Project are ethical and sensible human beings. There is a serious...

This week France's Minister of Labor Astrid Panosyan-Bouvet drew fire from all sides of the political spectrum with a proposal to tax 'wealthy' pensioners in France. The idea being that the taxation would fund services for the elderly... The game in Ukraine is perhaps less clear even though new US President Donald Trump expressed his desire to see the fighting there ending. For Russia the ultimate solution is a long-term agreement that keeps Ukraine neutral. That doesn't seem to be close. Stories were published last year suggesting some French military commitment to Ukraine... France's Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau issuing new...

In an interview on CBS's "Sixty Minutes," outgoing FBI Director Christopher Wray admitted that "China has penetrated America's water treatment plants, electric grid, and other critical civilian infrastructure, and is lying 'in wait' for an opportunity to cyberattack at a time and place of its choosing." Most Americans have been led to believe that the FBI is a crackerjack outfit that is protecting the country against subversion. At least, that is the story promulgated by the mainstream media, TV shows, and movies. If the Chinese have subverted America during his watch why does Wray seem so relaxed now that he...

VIDEOIt was a ban that lasted only a few hours but, HOO-BOY, did it ever inspire mass panic among the TikTokers in the brief time TikTok was offline. Here we see the TikTokers trying to cope with life WITHOUT TikTok. Oh, and fortunately one savvy TikToker was able to give credit for the return of TikTok where credit was due... President Donald Trump.

Sorry, TikTok isn't available right nowA law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now.We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!

The clock is ticking on whether or not the Chinese government-connected social media platform TikTok will "go dark" in the U.S. over the weekend, after the Supreme Court ruled Friday to uphold the law banning the site starting Jan. 19. The high court announced it would take up the case as an emergency review, with TikTok arguing a ban would violate the First Amendment to the Constitution. On Friday, TikTok warned in a statement that it would pull the plug Sunday, unless officials in the Biden administration step in and make a "definitive statement" reassuring the company it would not...

VIDEOThe TikTok ban goes into effect in just one day as of this writing. As you can see, many TikTokers have taken this news as the ultimate life destroying tragedy. However, the cavalry might soon be arriving to rescue them in the form of President Donald Trump. Since the ban takes effect on a Sunday that means the ban could be slow rolled until noon the following day when a REAL President officially takes office and freezes or reverses the ban. Oh, and for all you TikTokers now whining about the ban, if it reversed then you are expected to...

He built the world’s fastest car. He sends starships to space faster – and cheaper – than NASA. But what the world’s richest man is planning at a remote facility in Memphis may be his greatest achievement to date. Recently, earth’s most powerful billionaire revealed a giant AI supercomputer 10 times more powerful than the technology used to create ChatGPT. Some are even calling it a “ChatGPT killer.” The crazy part? He has plans to double its power in a matter of weeks … and double it again by this summer. It’s the new pinnacle of AI technology. World-famous venture...

It’s official: we now have perhaps the worst excuse from liberal media for Vice President Kamala Harris’s resounding defeat to Donald Trump. Since the election, Democratic Party operatives, liberal intellectuals and cable news hosts have served up a slew of excuses for the November disaster, everything from hate-fueled racism to plain old sexism. But Salon writer Amanda Marcotte has the worst excuse of them all: Kamala got shellacked because of Q-Anon-adjacent conspiracy theories. Marcotte writes that Americans who voted for Trump are addicted to conspiracy theories on social media, whereas the average Harris voter is someone who lives grounded in...
