views Jan 30, 2025 29/JAN/2025 PSA Airlines performing flight from Wichita to Washington National was on short final circling for runway 33 when the aircraft collided with a Military Army Sikorsky UH-60 and both aircraft fell into the Potomac River.
Local Police reported no survivors.
After confirmation on another frequency, PAT25 is heard during the following communication with Tower. Listen to that audio here • Last Radio from Army Helicopter | Mid...

They’re already blaming DJT.
What was going on in the helicopter?
According to Trump:
“The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport. The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn’t the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn’t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane. This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!”
Why was the helicopter going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time on a clear night with the plane’s lights blazing?
I’m open to the possibility of the pilot doing a kamikaze. We still have no information about the pilots, which yes, I understand military personnel don’t immediately get names released. But someone knows who they are and every minute that passes is another minute of social media scrubbing.
I think there’s only one highly plausible explanation.
It looks like the helo was looking at the other plane in the area. The one it collided with was making a “left turn” to the airfield.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the helo pilot first saw the collision plane bearing away slightly before making the turn and when ATC warned them to avoid the plane, they were looking at the other taking off to the east.
It seems to me if the ATC had said do you see the plane ON BEARING 270, the helo pilot would know which of the two planes to keep an eye out for.
Yes it does look intentional on the part of the helo.
Yeah CNN was blaming the transfer of government and that they got rid of the FAA leader. What a joke.
Short answer:
They had on night vision goggles.
There was another A/C taking off at that same time in their vicinity.
May have been distracted by that A/C to their right side.........
Come on everyone, cut this person some slack, she/he gave them a heading to fly and it was time to take her break, get over it
According to the Army, per FOX, last night there were three personnel onboard the H/C, two pilots and an instructor........
Army aircraft calling that they had visual contact with the CRJ was clearly seeing another plane they mistook for it, and missed the belly of the CRJ facing them. Combine with poor DEI ATC overall in that area.
Simple as that.
This sounds as most likely to me.
Tragic!
Looks either intentional, or more likely he just didn’t see the plane. At night, with low altitude and with all the lights on the ground the aircraft lights blend in with the background, making it very difficult to see. Helicopter pilot reportedly said he had the RJ in sight but must have mistaken it with another.
“I’m open to the possibility of the pilot doing a kamikaze.”
That’s weak. You don’t take a UH-60 to chase down and ram a jet aircraft. It probably could have only happened by accident. If you tasked a Blackhawk with ramming a jet at night on purpose, it would be damned near impossible to pull off.
That’s right up there with the World Trade Center actually being demolition charges and no air liner ever hit the Pentagon thinking.
“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate”
Looks either intentional, or more likely he just didn’t see the plane

Or he saw THE WRONG PLANE.
Would the helicopter not have sensors on it indicating they were too close to another plane?
My 2001 car has front, back and side sensors that scream at me if I get to close to another car.
If so, it is very similar in circumstance to the San Diego PSA crash in 1978.
