Instead of "The Bus Stops here" I could well have titled this AAR "Freeping on a Glacier". Last week we had a typical Washington DC area winter storm; sleet and snow. During the day it partially melts, and at night freezes rock-hard. This time, after only about one day of partial melting, the temperature stayed below freezing even during the day, unusual for around here. The result was that any driveway or parking lot that didn't get plowed on Wednesday had turned into a glacier by the weekend. Cars that didn't get cleaned off were encased in ice. The parking...

<p>Washington, DC, February 9, 2007— The DC Chapter of Free Republic has lately added an Australian flag to its array of troop-honoring Coalition colors at our Friday evening rally at the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The Aussie flag joins the British Union Jack in honor of two of our loyal partner nations in the War on Terror. Australian flags were given by two FReepers, Dinah Lord and Jimmy Valentine's Brother, who read of a donation to our Walter Reed rally by a supportive Australian passerby a few weeks ago.</p>

Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorhn, former members of the terrorist group the Weather Undeground will share the bill with Cindy Sheehan this weekend at an "emergency" impeachment summit in New York City. The Guardian gives this thumbnail sketch of the unrepentant terrorist couple:In the course of his time with the Weathermen (named after the Bob Dylan lines "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"), Ayers' girlfriend, Diana Oughton, died with two other Weathermen when a bomb they were making exploded in their Greenwich Village apartment in 1970. Ayers went on the run with Bernadine Dohrn, the...

Wednesday, February 14, 2007 Foreign Operatives Using Message Boards All over the Internet, it is apparent that a coordinated, well-funded effort is under way to undermine and warp American values by attacking us through our least protected zone...the Internet. From AOL, to Yahoo, to Netscape, possible terrorists are posting on message boards while posing as liberals. They are taking advantage of the natural anti-American tendencies liberals have anyway, and therefore can more easily blend in. However, there are a few traits you should look for to determine whether someone is actually a foreign agent instead of just the average liberal:...

Last week, far left-wing blogger Amanda Marcotte began her stint as Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards' "blogmaster:" snip The question is: How long will the Edwards campaign want the "insightful" and "issues-oriented" Marcotte to be a part of them? Seems that everyone but the Edwards campaign has tracked Marcotte's foul-mouthed nutroots diatribes. Or perhaps the Edwards team is well aware of her lunatic blogging and can't wait for her to unleash her unbridled anger on their spiffy website to give him a gritty, "progressive" edge. Whatever the case, Walter Olson, K.C. Johnson, LieStoppers, and Jon Ham all caught Marcotte trying...

Code Pink comes to Fort Hood Last night I got a call from Kristinn about a possible invasion of my city by the Code pink freaks. After talking to Dr. Raul and looking it up on the Net, I was astonished to learn that this was true. Code pink Austin Chapter has decided to stage a protest outside the East Gate of the large Military Base in the Free world. As the only know Freeper here, I took it upon myself to make sure that this does not go unnoted so here is a little info for all of you...

On the Eve of "anti"-War at Walter Reed -- Week 93Washington, DC, January 26, 2007-- Old Man Winter seems to have finally arrived in the Nation's Capital. It didn't get nearly as cold or windy as the pessimistic forecasters predicted, but is was no day at the beach. Not a whole lot happened this Friday. We had FReepers from out of town who came to counter-protest the big United for Peace and Justice (and the Communist Way!) happening on the Mall on Saturday. The whole list of FReepers & FRiends in attendance last friday (If I missed anyone - please...

I am tired of Democrats saying they are patriotic and then insulting my commander in chief... I am tired of Democrats who tell me they support me, the soldier on the ground, and then tell me the best plan to win this war is with a “phased redeployment” (liberal-speak for retreat) out of the combat zone to someplace like Okinawa. I am tired of senior officers and commanders who fight this war with more of an eye on the media than on the enemy, who desperately needs killing. I am tired of the decisions of Sergeants and Privates made in...

Code Pink Undermines War on Terror by John J. TierneyPosted Jan 29, 2007The women wear pink dresses and sportswear and carry pink parasols and pink protest signs that declare their opposition to the Iraq war. Mainly white and middle-aged, they proclaim themselves to be the wives and mothers and daughters of men and women in the armed services, and they say they are earnestly devoted to peace and opposed to U.S. war policies. Acting out bits of political theater, they denounce their enemies -- no, not Osama bin Laden -- but giant puppet figures who walk with them. The puppets...

The anti-American group Code Pink has announced plans to occupy Senate and House offices of senators and representative who 'refuse to pledge to vote against additional war funding.'Code Pink compares their effort undermine the United States government to those of Germans who worked to bring down the Nazi regime of Adolph Hitler. One Whole Year of 4-Corner FReeping at Walter Reed -- Week 92Washington, DC, January 19, 2007-- My, how time flies! It hardly seems a year ago (Jan 20, 2006) that FReeper concretebob handed Code Pink its walking papers by scarfing up the permits that the commies forgot to renew. One year ago, armymarinemom posted the following: just received a phone call from Kristinn!! The DC Chapter of Protest Warriors obtained a permit for Code Pink's side of the street today after the Pinko's forgot to renew their permit. The blood dancers tried to stick it out for about 20-25 minutes...

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan is ignoring an appeal by wives and mothers of imprisoned Cuban political dissidents for her to visit Cuban prisons during her trip this week to protest the treatment of suspected terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay. The Damas de Blanco, or Ladies in White, who march silently through the streets of Havana every Sunday in protest at the incarceration of political prisoners of the Castro regime, wrote a letter to Ms. Sheehan inviting her to visit Cuban prisons. LAFAYETTE - The display of crosses across from the Lafayette BART station is now more visible at night. Organizers added a neon sign with the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq. The new electric-powered neon sign sits on the lower portion of the large white sign that carries a running count of fallen troops in black numbers. There has been some discussion over whether the neon sign is "tacky" and fits the memorial, said organizer Jeff Heaton. But organizers decided to install it in light of President Bush's stated intention to send more troops to Iraq. Heaton said he...

Cindy Sheehan, Mother to the World and international peace activist, released a response today to a New York Sun article that reported Sheehan was blowing off an appeal from a group of Cuban dissidents known as the Ladies in White to visit Cuban prisons this week while she is there protesting the U.S. terrorist detention center at Guantanamo. In the Sun article, Code Pink leader and Fidel Castro groupie Medea Benjamin, who organized Sheehan's trip to the communist workers' paradise, is reported as saying that Sheehan and her traveling party had not seen the letter from the dissidents, but that the...

American "peace mom" Cindy Sheehan called for the closure of the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo, Cuba, as she and other activists arrived here Saturday to draw attention to the nearly 400 terror suspects still held at the remote site. Sheehan is among 12 human rights and anti-war activists who will travel across this Caribbean island next week, arriving at the main gate of the Guantanamo base on Thursday — five years after the first prisoners were flown in. "Anyone who knows me knows that I am not afraid of anything," Sheehan said when asked about the possibility of U.S....
