Last week, National Review published an appalling article by Zachary Evans about the recent wave of antisemitic violence against ultra-Orthodox Jews in and around New York City. It claimed to provide context for these attacks but was inadvertently (I hope) an exercise in victim blaming. In response to many readersÂ’ outraged replies, both the ReviewÂ’s editors and several staff members made matters worse by refusing to acknowledge any problem with the article.
