  • ‘If Anybody Needs To Be Fact-Checked, It’s The Media’: Kayleigh McEnany Unloads On Jim Acosta

“Shouldn’t the president be fact-checked, especially this president who has made so many false and misleading statements that has put fact-checkers to work across the world?” Acosta asked “These 18,000 false or misleading statements according to the Washington Post, if there’s any president out there we should be fact-checking, or political leader that should be fact-checked, isn’t it President Trump? Aren’t you trying to silence fact-checking by going after Twitter like this?” “If you’re going to get into the fact-checking business, there is no one that should be fact-checked more than the mainstream media that has been continually wrong about...

Twitter, Inc. (TWTR) shares fell more than 2% off of their reaction highs earlier this week after President Trump announced plans for an executive order that would enable regulators to rethink Section 230 – a law designed to protect tech companies from third-party content liability. The move comes shortly after Twitter flagged one of the president's tweets about mail-in voting fraud with a fact-checking label, drawing a bout of criticism. While the executive order would mark an escalation in Trump's war against tech companies, the implementation would be up to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) lamented Thursday that Twitter is too “selective” in its so-called fact-checking of President Donald Trump, suggesting the social media giant should be taking further action against his account. Pelosi made the remarks during a press conference when asked about President Trump’s imminent executive order targeting social media giants. “It’s an outrageous situation,” the speaker began. “While Twitter is putting up their fact check under what the president says about voting, they still won’t take off the misrepresentation the president is putting out there about the death of a gentleman whose wife died and he’s asking...

Even Trump-supporters have wondered about Trump's tweets implying that MSNBC's Joe Scarborough had something to do with a young intern's death in his office when he was still a Florida congressman. It's true that Scarborough and his co-host and wife Mika Brzezinksi have spent three years accusing Trump of treasonous collusion with the Russians, but Trump's venom still seemed strange. I, however, don't think it was strange at all. Trump is one of the most calculating, rational people ever to occupy the White House. He's been faced with a serious problem, which is the fact that the immensely powerful social...

On Tuesday Twitter added a fake fact-check to President Trump’s tweet on mail-in voting scandals. And the person behind Twitter “Site Integrity” is an avowed leftist who says there are “nazis in the White House.” On Wednesday Jenna Ellis, senior legal adviser to Team Trump and Attorney to President Trump, issued a response to Twitter’s partisan tactics: Team Trump rejects Twitter’s blatantly partisan attempt to ‘fact check’ the President on election integrity. Twitter falsely undermined the truth and opinion of his tweet, thereby misleading the American public on the valid concerns with mail-in ballots. FACTS: Mail-in balloting increases the chain...

Arizona sued Google this week, alleging the big tech company engaged in deceptive and unfair business practices to obtain users’ location data for advertising purposes in order to gain a profit. The 50-page complaint alleges Google tracks the location of its users even if the consumer had disabled the tracker. After a roughly two-year probe, Arizona says Google also makes it confusing and increasingly difficult for a consumer to opt-out of the tracking and information collection. “While Google users are led to believe they can opt-out of location tracking, the company exploits other avenues to invade personal privacy,” Arizona Attorney...

A draft of an executive order that President Donald Trump may sign as soon as Thursday could dramatically expand the government's ability to punish social media platforms, marking the Trump administration's most aggressive salvo yet in its battle against alleged anti-conservative bias on platforms including Twitter and Facebook. A draft of the expansive executive order, circulated to stakeholders and obtained by Protocol late Wednesday night, would pull multiple levers of governmental power — including federal agencies, the U.S. attorney general and the White House — in order to blast the tech giants over allegations that their platforms censor conservative voices....

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday doubled down on his defense of the platform not labeling misinformation shared by politicians after Twitter placed warnings on two posts from President Trump it deemed “misleading.” Asked by Fox News’ Dana Perino if he thought Twitter “made the wrong decision,” Zuckerberg said his platform has “a different policy than Twitter on this.” “I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online,” Zuckerberg said in the interview on Fox's "The Daily Briefing." “I think in general private companies probably shouldn't be — especially...

Rival social media CEOs Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey had a public spat Wednesday night after Zuckerberg criticized Twitter for its fact-check of President Trump’s prediction that mass voting-by-mail would lead to fraud. Speaking to Fox News’ Dana Perino, Zuckerberg — who has repeatedly pushed back on criticism for his decision to not censor political speech — said that Facebook has “a different policy than Twitter on this.” “I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online,” he stated. “Private companies probably shouldn’t be, especially these platform companies, shouldn’t be in...

Four Silicon Valley billionaires in particular are trailblazing an effort to help the Democratic Party with obtaining more data by creating start ups and tech tools specifically to rival Republicans in that field, according to nearly two dozen interviews conducted by Vox's digital news arm Recode. LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, philanthropist and Steve Jobs' widower Laurene Powell Jobs and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt are all behind this effort to help defeat Donald Trump.

When the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on social media censorship late last month, liberal Democratic congressman Ted Lieu transformed into a hardcore libertarian. “This is a stupid and ridiculous hearing,” he said, because “the First Amendment applies to the government, not private companies.” He added that just as the government cannot tell Fox News what content to air, “we can’t tell Facebook what content to filter,” because that would be unconstitutional. Lieu is incorrect. While the First Amendment generally does not apply to private companies, the Supreme Court has held it “does not disable the government from taking...

A draft of an executive order President Trump is expected to sign on Thursday would seek to limit the broad legal protection that federal law currently provides social-media and other online platforms, according to people familiar with the draft. The draft order would make it easier for federal regulators to hold companies such as Twitter and Facebook liable for curbing users’ speech, for example by suspending their accounts or deleting their posts, the people said. The draft isn’t yet completed and is subject to change, the people said. It comes after Twitter on Tuesday moved for the first time to...

Anti-Trump tweets by Yoel Roth, Twitter’s Head of Site Integrity since July 2018, are just the latest example of the extreme leftward slant and double standards held by those at the helm of Silicon Valley social media giants. The New York Post’s Jon Levine resurfaced tweets written by Roth in 2016 and 2017, not only poking fun at conservative leaders but also mocking the Americans who make up the geographic majority of the country. “I’m just saying, we fly over those states that voter for a racist tangerine for a reason,” the Twitter executive wrote the night of the 2016...

President Trump on Wednesday threatened to “strongly regulate” or close down social media platforms if they silence conservative voices, stepping up his criticism after Twitter attached fact-checking context to Mr. Trump’s tweets for the first time on Tuesday. “Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen,” the president said on Twitter. “We saw what they attempted to do, and failed, in 2016. We can’t let a more sophisticated version of that…happen again,” the president said.

This is not news to anyone especially here in FR. But I think they've reached a new low. I posted a clip of Biden saying "I can beat Biden". And FB just tagged that clip as false via their Politifact checkers saying that Biden actually said "I can BE Biden". Really?! What FB just did is to say, "So who you gonna believe, ME or your lyin eyes!" This is a huge stretch and I think its so bold and brazen a lie that this shows how desperate they are.
