CRAWFORD — The Camp Casey Memorial on Prairie Chapel Road was removed by thieves earlier today. Not a single item is left at the memorial site. Crew members working for McLennan County said they witnessed items being removed by an unidentified individual and contacted their office to inform commissioners. Upon arrival at Camp Casey, honor guard members who had been at the Crawford Peace House immediately called McLennan County Sheriff’s Deputy R. Polansky to report the theft. Among the items stolen were numerous crosses, Casey Sheehan’s boots, tents, and other items. The 26-day vigil of Cindy Sheehan outside the Bush...

Citing public safety concerns, not a desire to limit anti-war demonstrators, McLennan County commissioners on Tuesday approved an order to prohibit parking along 23 miles of county roads surrounding President Bush's Crawford-area ranch. In a 4-1 vote, commissioners and County Judge Jim Lewis ordered no parking or stopping of vehicles along portions of Prairie Chapel, Hester, Old Beulah, Morgan, Mattlage, Homestead, Quiet Valley, Canaan Church, Coryell City, Bohne, Spross, Castle Creek and West Middle Bosque roads. The vote comes nearly two weeks after the end of anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan's monthlong peace vigil near the Bush ranch. The controversial vigil...

McLennan County Commissioners OK New Restrictions On Parking Near Bush Ranch McLennan County Commissioners voted 4-1 Tuesday in favor of an ordinance to extend restrictions on parking or stopping on nearly 25 miles of roads near the President’s Central Texas ranch. The ordinance stems from complaints about the anti-war protesters who gathered alongside a rural McLennan County roadside during the President’s August vacation. Remaining protesters argued that the restriction is unconstitutional, but commissioners rejected the claim, although Commissioner Joe Mashek did cast a lone vote against the ordinance because of concerns about constitutionality. A second measure that would prohibit erecting...

Hurricane Katrina evacuees flew into the nation's capital to tell President Bush to stop blaming local officials for his mistakes and acknowledge that budget cuts and indifference by his administration led to the disaster in New Orleans and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Interesting story from someone who went inside Camp Casey. I don't think there is anything we haven't already heard, or known about professional anti-America protesters. I pulled this from a courageous soul's post who dared to put it on an Austin community listserv. From the Belly of the Beast Reader Curt Loftis spent two days in Crawford, Texas, carrying out a first-hand reconnaissance of the anti-American forces assembled there. He writes: I arrived at the original Camp Casey at 2:30 in the afternoon. It was hot and dry and the assembled demonstrators were in a melancholy state. I quickly made...

Report From Camp Casey August 25, 2005 Hello from Crawford Texas! Still no sight of Terrorist Bush but we're not leaving till he comes out to speak to Our Mother Of Perpetual Peace Sheehan (OMOPPS) and promises to give the oil he stole back to Iraq. Meanwhile, the world's smartest and most talented people continue to arrive at Camp Casey. I saw Richard Dreyfuss and he really does look just like a professor and sounds like one too. I listened as he explained the connection between the Skull and Bones Society, Halliburton, Exxon, Nixon, General Electric, Jerry Falwell, Sears, and...

Remember when the MSM and the liberals questioned the propriety of President Bush's inaugural parties in the wake of the tsunami that struck halfway around the world? I have to wonder how many MSM members are asking Cindy Sheehan and other lefties if they are going to postpone any of their activities while the Katrina recovery effort is still pulling out survivors and finding corpses here in the US?

What really goes on inside Cindy Sheehan's Crawford camp? Is it really about grassroots activists joining together, or has she merely been used by political operatives in Ben Cohen's San Francisco-based nonprofit? Friday's Rusty Humphries show (where I filled in as host), featured Curtis Loftis, a conservative activist who managed to get direct access to nearly everyone in Sheehan's group, merely by blending in.

Cindy Sheehan has returned to Yasgur's Farm south, formerly Crawford, Texas, to continue the peace vigil and folk festival near Bush's ranch. Soon she, her supporters, and other media moths attracted by the TV lights will embark on a bus caravan to Washington, D.C., to continue to tell the world exactly how dumb U.S. soldiers are. That's right: Dumb. Brain dead. Morons. Dopes. The reason why they believe that the U.S. soldier is an empty-headed dupe isn't tough to figure out. Take Casey Sheehan for example. He joined the military on his own accord, willingly re-enlisted during this conflict, and...

After calling the terrorists in Iraq who killed her son "freedom fighters," anti-Bush activist Cindy Sheehan now says other mothers of those slain in the conflict whose views oppose her own are "brainwashed." "I have been silent on the Gold Star Moms who still support [President Bush] and his war by saying that they deserve the right to their opinions because they are in as much pain as I am. I would challenge them, though, at this point to start thinking for themselves," Sheehan said. "How can these moms who still support George Bush and his insane war in Iraq...

Deep in the heart of Texas, or so the saying goes, lies a small town called Crawford. Nestled neatly between over here and over there, Crawford probably wouldn’t be a household name if not for three very well known people. President George W. Bush and his wife Mrs. Laura Bush purchased the famous Crawford Ranch in 1999. Six years and two elections later, Crawford was visited by someone else who would draw the attention of the nation. Cindy Sheehan had come to Crawford. It was early August, 2005, when Cindy Sheehan first arrived to make a stand outside President...

CRAWFORD, Texas - At 11 a.m. Monday Cindy Sheehan's eyes drooped from lack of sleep, she spoke a little slower, and her skin was reddened from more than a week in the intense summer sun. Since deciding to unfold a lawn chair in a grassy roadside ditch near President George W. Bush's ranch on Aug. 6, Sheehan has done non-stop media interviews, spoke at protest events and learned that her husband Patrick - from whom she was separated - filed for divorce Friday. After a night of reflection, the Vacaville mother of four says she is going to take time...

New York, August 16, 2005 – The General Secretary of the National Council of Churches is urging President Bush to join with Gold Star families and religious leaders in an interfaith prayer service outside the Bush ranch at noon (CDT) Friday, The prayer service has been called by Gold Star mother Cindy Sheehan “as an opportunity for Americans and others across the world to pray for our soldiers in Iraq, their families and in particular the mothers of our fallen.” Sheehan, along with United Methodist laywoman Celeste Zappala and other Gold Star mothers, has been waiting outside the...
