Its so obvious whats going on its not even funny. Iran will risk the international isolation gladly to get the nukes. They saw how it worked for North Korea and there they now have the nukes and the thugs are still in charge.

Its obvious they want to go the same road. Will we or anybody do anything to stop them? Doubtful-Maybe Israel, but at this point I think the world community is going to sit back and just let it happen, and that includes us.

Its almost comedy listening to news and reading drudge like there is actually "news" going on. Most of the hearings so far have been as boring and dry as can be.

They try to make it seem like there is drama, but the news won't tell people the 2 most important facts. First the Rep party has enough votes to push him through regardless of what the Dems do, and 2nd- Does anybody think for even a second that they will try the fillibuster? I'm betting 100-1 odds they do not have the guts to even try.

They sure look dangerous. Playing like the champs that they are. I would hate to be the team that has to face them. I think they can beat the colts, or any other AFC team.

I am hoping the Giants win and they continue to win so we can be the team that stops the 3-peat just like we did to the 49s back in 1991!

why is it that so many people still keep mentioning Texas and Earle as the reasons for this move? This has nothing to do with that case. This is all about Jack Abramoff. It was easy to paint the Texas case as partisan, weak-rat inspired...whatever you want to call it. This new case puts Delay in far more serious potential trouble. He was just too close to Abramoff, and thats not good for Delay's future in politics.

Science in this nation is already dying a slow death, we do not need to be confusing kids by throwing something like ID into science classes.

Want to teach ID in social studies, or religious studies, ghost hunting 101? Sure, go right ahead. But leave it out of the science class. Science tries to find the answers to "how" and religion asks "why"- They are both vital, and are not in competition, but need to be kept apart.

He his neither coward nor traitor. He could be wrong? Sure! but these attacks on his honor as a Marine? I have lurked here for a long time just enjoying being on the side-lines but I can not handle personal attacks on a fellow Marine like this.

This guy has spent the majority of his life serving his country. How can some of you call him such names? Call him wrong on policy, call him out of touch, but dishonor his service? I believe there have been people predicting problems since the late 1920s when they were first put in place, so this comes as no surprise at all.

Every decade they supposedly were doing cost-benefit analysis or allocating money and every decade it either never came or was diverted to something else. Now we all have to pay I guess. Wonderful huh?

If True its soo disgusting that for one of the few times in my life I am at a loss for words. I feel worst for the officers who did not loot, worked their ass off while some of their comrades ran away or were looting and now will be smeared by association.

The media is more giddy then the democrats and that includes fox news. All they see are nice ratings jumps so they will make this as sexy as they can.

I have no problem with Intelligent Design being taught in a school

I do have a problem with it being taught as science though. Evolution can be tested and has been over and over again in the lab.

If you can not test ID in the lab then it's not science in my view. How can you test a theory that adds a supernatural layer to it? Just by saying that there are complex systems in nature that could not have formed on their own does not mean you can test that in the lab. To be able to do that you would need the designer to be a part of the test.

If they want to teach ID though in school in some non-science capacity I have not a problem with that at all. In fact it would anger me if they would try to supress its teaching.

Me too! Too often I do not even think people understand what an originalist means. Personally I wish the whole court was filled with them.

Its too bad the phrase "states rights" took on all sorts of negative undertones over the years. Its not a code-word to do bad things to people, its just the way our country was founded and whats good for NY may not be good for Kansas. I wish people would just realize this.

Somebody please tell me how he could ever make it out of the primaries? Sure he can win New Hampshire but recent history has told us that is not nearly has important as in the past.

The only thing he can do is drive moderate republicans away in the general election due to the negative primary coverage where although he will lose, he will get all the media coverage with his talk of "star wars" and the "death star"

All he can do is make the next election closer then it might be. So I wish and hope he stays home!

The guy who wrote this opinion piece does not know what he is talking about. First off if the experts can not seem to determine how Roberts will vote on issues I can not understand how this guy could. Roberts views on so many subjects are a mystery to me and I watched or listened to most of those hearings.

Next my own opinion is that Roberts was totally vetted before he was chosen. In my own opinion the religious right want the same kind of judicial activism from the right that the leftists want from the other side. So if they are angry, just like we know the liberals are also angry-its a good thing. An originalist showers disdain over "movements" in general, because movements on the left and right of the political spectrum come and go over the long years, but the consititution stays whole.

How in the world after the Brown stuff at FEMA can they so quickly make another "political" appointment to head a major agency? First off the timing is terrible, next I disagree with some who have said it can not get worse. It surely can get worse-how about terrorists crossing the borders to create mayhem in some city? We need somebody with experience in at least managing lots of people, preferably with some law enforcement credentials.

Now having said that and even though I am disgusted with this appointment I realize how the real world works. She is the daughter of a very very powerful man and her husband is fairly powerful as well. Her resume on experience is less then many people i know myself, but nobody I know has a powerful relative so I guess its the way of the world.
