In my opinion, these kinds of articles are worthless.
Who gets to decide which city is happier than some other city? What criteria did they use to measure happiness? Does someone suddenly become an "expert" simply because they have a website?
Where do they get their data? In many decades on this planet, I don't remember any pollster ever querying me about my happiness.
***I don’t buy into this story. It has threads of plausibility, but I’m highly skeptical that all of this is true.***
Agreed! It would be almost impossible to believe that *any* major film studio would develop a multi-million dollar project, having only one copy without continuous, multiple off-site backups.
The America where I live is not in a “death spiral,” even though this may be true of some parts of the country (New York, Illinois, Colorado, California, Oregon and Washington). And even in those states there are many, many normal, law-abiding, reasonable citizens.
Please, let’s be honest—each stupid, corrupt and illegal thing that some person, somewhere does, doesn’t mean the WHOLE country is swirling the drain! It is time to put this in perspective.
But I guess I’m getting old. I really don’t like these modern minimalist “beardlets” that are just 5-o’clock shadow on steroids. I don’t understand the appeal.
I am with you. I simply don't understand the appeal of facial hair! There have been many times when I looked around a restaurant and realize that I am the ONLY clean-shaven man in the whole place!
