October 13, 2000 The Clinton-Gore Record on National Missile Defense America, the Vulnerable Despite the real and increasingly urgent threat posed by countries intent on developing and deploying weapons of mass destruction, Americans today remain vulnerable to a ballistic missile attack. This is the Clinton-Gore record. Evidence of this pervasive threat is constantly in the news; most recently, we learned of Iran's testing of its new, medium-range, 800-mile ballistic missile, the Shahab-3. While the rocket exploded shortly after liftoff, similar problems in the past have done nothing to deter Iran from moving forward with its ballistic missile program and seeking...

Broken Vows: On State Taxes, the Burned Hand Teaches Best Tim Kaine has been touring the state to pitch his road-and-tax plan to the public - much as Mark Warner did two years ago when he was pitching his tax plan. Like Kaine, he made multiple appearances in front of audiences whom he lec- tured with talking points. At the time, Warner stressed tax reform - not tax hikes. "If there is one thing I want you to remember, it's that at the end of this plan, 65 percent of Virginians will pay less," Warner said. His plan, sold as...

Apr 13, 1:37 AM EDT Florida Ban on Felon Voting Is Upheld By LISA ORKIN EMMANUEL Associated Press Writer MIAMI (AP) -- A federal appeals court in Atlanta on Tuesday upheld Florida's 160-year-old law enforcing a lifetime ban on voting rights for convicted felons. Ex-felons sued in 2000 to get their voting rights restored when their sentences are finished, instead of having to apply through a complex system for civil rights restoration. Many never apply or don't complete the process. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals did not give a voting tally Tuesday, but of 12 judges that heard...

States Debate Photo IDs at Polls By DEANNA WRENN Associated Press Writer INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Legislation that would require voters to show photo identification before casting ballots has touched off fierce debate in three states, with opponents complaining the measures represent a return to the days of poll taxes and Jim Crow. Lawmakers in Georgia and Indiana walked off the job to protest the proposals, which they say would deprive the poor, the elderly and minorities of the right to vote. Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, a Democrat, has already vetoed a similar measure and has vowed to do so again....

Hillary’s Pet Author Explodes & Disappears on the Michael Savage Show December 18, 1999 M. Savage:...Camille Paglia was not really that nice to this book, where she said Gail Sheehy’s gushy new book, Hillary’s Choice, contains enough negatives to prove why Hillary has no business meddling in electoral politics. And then she goes on to confirm that Gail Sheehy confirms that indeed Hillary was the hardliner who refused to settle with Paula Jones. Sheehy claims it was Hillary who pushed the president into bombing Kosovo. And she also implies that, according to this new book Hillary’s Choice, it was Hillary...
